Stages to becoming a successful lucid dreamer?

      1. Start a DJ

      2. Recall at least one dream a night

(optional): Once you have a couple dozen dreams written down, search for Dream Signs.

      3. Start experimenting with induction techniques.

Is it that simple or am I missing something?

Since I took a break from my LD attempts, my recall has skyrocketed and I MIGHT have had an LD the other night but I'm not sure...
      Goals:
Consistently for two weeks recall at least one dream per night [ ]

Consistency and motivation is very important. And when you say "start experimenting with induction techniques" what do you mean exactly? It's very important to stick to a routine for a long time before switching. Stick to the same routine for at least 2 months before switching.

There are more stages than just that.

After about 4 months of your steps 1-3 I was having lucid dreams regularly, but they were short with poor control. I got very frustrated with having lucid dreams, but not being able to do all the things I wanted to do in them. So I quit.....

      So there are the stages...

      4. Regular Lucid Dreams

      5. Mastery of Control

Two very different things in my opinion.
