Just that they are testing things pretty much. It was supposed to be quiet for 3-4 years, it has been around 3 now.

I've heard of similar experiments being done during cardiac arrest before, but they turned out negative; it was always the case that OBEs were just in the patients' heads.

Of course it's good to see what sounds like rigorous study being done in this area, but don't expect anything exciting to come of it.

How long was that test for and how many people tried out? find it odd that Parnia would say this has not been done before when it has. I'm more curious then anything...i have pretty much stopped thinking about this stuff, i got a life to live and not an afterlife to think about. Maybe on my death bed.

It hasn't been done in the same way, the experiment I read about simply involved asking patients about details of the room they were in which they wouldn't have been able to see from their natural vantage point.

It was in a popular book about somebody who'd spent a while researching the NDE phenomenon.

One of the hospitals part of this project says there have been many patients expierience something but not 1 have seen the picture on the ceiling. But the full results will be out sometime next year in 2012.
