When I was younger I too was interested in this kind of stuff. In fact, I still am and always be. However, I have come to the conclusion that this kind of stuff is either impossible, or only attainable by a very very very talented few people. Even such people famous for such things with high reputations like Sai Baba were exposed to be fakes. It seems that, if such things are possible, that they come at a high price: life-times of dedication. And is it worth it? The amount of energy it takes to even acquire an accidental success can be devoted to sorting out personal emotional issues or improving your relationship with your significant other or helping friends, family, or strangers with a much higher payoff to you and others. How are these powers going to help others? They are not... they are just for your ego. They won't even help you. Sorry, but that is the truth. If you say "I will use my powers for the betterment of human-kind and the struggle against evil" I will answer "Do a reality check, you are dreaming." The fact is, that if such powers are attainable, they are a side-effect of great spiritual purification and genius. People who attain this are not looking for this, but it comes naturally on the side. In other words, they discover it for themselves.
However, that is not to say that there are not methods. These are methods of concentration and relaxation, which are also, ironically, beneficial for spiritual growth. For example, you can spend eight hours a day focusing on a paper psi-wheel and maybe get it to wiggle after a few months, OR, you can spend that amount of time and energy clearing your mind, developing lucidity, and exploring the spaciousness of your own being. Or helping others who will always remember how you touched their lives.
An internet search will reveal to you about psi-wheels, starting fires, bending spoons, etc... The key is too not be attached to results... and to be very patient. After all, it might all be bullshit. But if not, so what? Not everyone will be impressed. I, for one, won't. What inspires me is someone with powerful, calm, and loving energy who has changed my life just by being themselves. Someone who has become a master of themselves rather than a master of some silly power. Someone who makes me want to be a better person.
Anyway, my favorite power is teleportation. I could go anywhere, like in that movie "Jumper". I would be unstoppable. I know of a method to attain it, unfortunately it involves a shit-load of self-knowledge and spiritual growth. Basically it involves a breathing technique and meditation. And I also believe that such powers, if they exist, are our birthright and that they are included in the future evolution of our race if we evolve past this present ego/competitive species. So I try to evolve.
Until then, I live my fantasies in my dreams. That is why I am a dreamer. And, I think that learning such things in dreams is the best way to also be able to do them in waking life, if such things are indeed possible. Then it would only be an issue of using the breathing technique to entrain to the same brain-wave frequency of dreaming and use your dream-control skills in waking life. Either that or you become schizophrenic.
Edit: after re-reading this I realize that I come across as extremely self-righteous. Sorry!
