Oh so like, you remember the dreams the moment you wake up, then forget later if you haven't written them down? That's common actually.

A lot of the stuff that I dream (or at least, that I remember) is quite surreal, involving fictional characters and objects. Maybe that'll help when it comes to lucidity *shrug*
That's definitely helpful. In fact, whenever you dream about something surreal or fictional and don't get lucid from it, then the moment you wake up and recall the dream, just repeat to yourself "I should have been lucid when I saw [insert character or object]." This is not meant to rub your face in it or anything, it just helps you associate lucidity with that character or object in your mind.

Thanks, that's quite a nice technique. I'll make sure to use it next time.
