      Adrenalini's Workbook

      H-H-Here I go.

I'll be beginning with a simple dream journal at my bedside, as suggested by Vengeance and paige in my intro thread, to aid my recall. I'll add reality checks and dream signs when I start to notice some patterns.

      Reality Checks:
-Pushing a finger through my palm
-Reading and re-reading text and clocks

      Dream Signs:
-Characters from Video Games and Anime
      -Babies (?)

      Short-Term Goals:
-Decide upon a few reality checks - Done
-Start doing regular RCs when I think I am awake - I'm regularly pushing my fingers through my palm when I see something odd. I've yet to do this in a dream though!
-Notice two or three recurring themes/patterns in my dreams - I've found a couple, but this needs more work before I can mark it 'done'.
      -Become lucid while dreaming
      -Induce sleep paralysis

      Long-Term Goals:
-Summon something small, like a key or a marble
      -Small-object telekinesis
-Have a conversation with someone during LD

      Even Longer-Term Goals:
      -Teleport
      -Fly
-Wield an elemental power (fire, lightning, etc.)
-Morph into an animal (preferably a dog)
-Create a personal space to regularly return to when I dream

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      -None yet

      Current Technique:
      -Improving recall using dream journal

Hey Adrenalini, welcome to the Intro Class!

Looks like you got a great workbook started there, I like your goals. So have you recalled any dreams recently, non lucid I mean?

Not quite, although I definitely remember REMEMBERING, ehehe. I'm not one of those people who doesn't think he dreams. A lot of the stuff that I dream (or at least, that I remember) is quite surreal, involving fictional characters and objects. Maybe that'll help when it comes to lucidity *shrug*

Oh so like, you remember the dreams the moment you wake up, then forget later if you haven't written them down? That's common actually.

That's definitely helpful. In fact, whenever you dream about something surreal or fictional and don't get lucid from it, then the moment you wake up and recall the dream, just repeat to yourself "I should have been lucid when I saw [insert character or object]." This is not meant to rub your face in it or anything, it just helps you associate lucidity with that character or object in your mind.

Thanks, that's quite a nice technique. I'll make sure to use it next time.

Hello again NO I AM NOT STALKING YOU lmao

Your workbook looks great! I'm really looking forward to reading through your progress :3

Oh, just a suggestion about your re-reading reality check. I use that reality check as well, and what I do is read a text, look away, *imagine/mentally change the text i just read*, then I look back. See, in dreams, we usually look at text, look back, and still think about the text we just read, so the tendency is that when we look back, the text will remain the same. Thus, it will prevent us from getting lucid. However, if you train yourself to imagine changing the text, then you finally do it in the dream, it will change, and you will have a greater chance to get lucid. This is just my opinion though, just wanted to share :3

I'll see you around, good luck! still loving your name btw

I've started posting my dream journal up on the site (can't link to it here yet, but you guys know how to get it anyway ;p) Using it generally has definitely helped me to keep a hold of the dreams I have and transfer them into my long-term memory.

I think that as well as fictional characters, um, babies might be a dream sign for me. Very peculiar.

I should have been lucid when I saw anime characters.

The thing is, I had the best dream of the night after I had woken up and then gone back to sleep quite early in the morning. Is this what's often referred to as 'Wake Back to Bed' (WBTB)?
Yes, indeed it was a WBTB. Not sure about the supertechnical side of it, but basically when you wake up a few hours into sleep, you are still in REM, and so when you get back to sleep, everything seems much more vivid and memorable. This is why it is recommended to be paired with the other techniques, since you have better chances of getting lucid then.

I'm not certain about the validity of this but I *may* have experienced a very short lucid last night. I've posted it up in my DJ, but essentially it happened as soon as I fell asleep so I'm uncertain as to whether I was truly dreaming or just daydreaming. I was definitely aware, though.

Oh nice! That, to me, is a lucid dream! Congratulations!!

You lost lucidity later on, but don't worry, you can work on stabilization and dream control the more you continue :3
