      Subjects' Workbook

Hello! So i joined the Dream Yoga class on here not too long ago and i decided that i should probably join this too while i'm at it, posting my goals should also help keep me motivated.

      Reality Checks:
-Pinch nose with fingers, to see if i can still breathe

      Dream Signs:
In the dreams i've logged the past week or so
      -The farm i live on
      -Battleships
      -Anime related things
      -My mother
      -A select group of friends

      Short-Term Goals:
-Make sure i log every night and not be lazy about it
      -Get better at MILD
      -Have frequent Lucid Dreams

      Long-Term Goals:
-Have some interesting conversations with dream characters
-Practice my martial arts in lucid dreams
-See what happens when i try to find my true self
      -Explore lots of weird places
-Put myself in life or death situations and see if i can live through them
      -Find true love
      -Explore concepts and ideas
      -Much more

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:

-Ever since last year, i've been attempting lucid dreaming in about one month intervals. School kept making me busy so it was hard, but it's the summer now and i'm going to
continue no matter what. My dream recall has been going pretty strong since last year. I usually log a lot of stuff every night except for when i stay up very late or feeling lazy.

      Current Technique:
      -All day awareness , DILD

      Lesson 1 Homework!:

-Start your own workbook thread in this subforum = Done

-Start a Dream Journal and record each dream = Already been doing this

-Record the times that you naturally go to bed and wake-up, and list it in your workbook = Right now, i'm going to bed at about 12:00 at night and waking up at around 10:00 am

-Do reality checks whenever you experience something weird throughout the day, and list it in your workbook = Whenever i go outside i try to do them while maintaining awareness as well, this is because
a lot of my dreams seem to take place on the farm i live on.

-Write a list for why you want to lucid dream (for motivation), and plan out what you want to do in your next lucid dream = I want to lucid dream because there are many things i can do in a dream that
i simply can't do in real life. In my next lucid dream, i want to explore my dream environment.
Here's the motivation part (for me): Okay so....Tonight, you're probably going to go to bed and wake up without logging anything. IF you do this, i will be mad. Seriously, LOG THOSE DREAMS. While you're at it
repeat to yourself often before sleep and after - I had a lucid dream tonight , I logged my dreams tonight , I did my dream yoga before bed, and say other phrases which i will remember.

-Establish a night-time routine (Include reading your dream journal, making sure to leave your DJ open to a blank page for quicker dictations) = Will do this tonight

      Optional:
Start a DreamViews Dream Journal (here)
      = Done

Great work Subjects, I like your thoroughness with the Lesson.

Something I noticed right away is the fact you sleep from 12 - 10. So this gives you plenty of time and opportunity for WBTB. Your all day awareness combined with WBTB can really enhance your DILD endeavors, food for thought.

my thoroughness? I thought i didn't write too much to be honest xD But if you like then it must be good.

Anyways, for the lesson 2 homework, i suppose i'll try extra hard for the next two weeks! After the two weeks is over, i'll post the completed lesson 2 homework. I will also post progress on here before then.

Awesome, i had a Lucid last night and i managed to recall 6 dreams in total ( this includes the lucid dream ). The All day awareness and dream yoga seemed to help a lot. I became lucid because of a "Feeling" i got, kind of hard to explain, it didn't feel like waking life so that then made me think it was a dream.

Had my 8th lucid dream last night, i also managed to log 12 dreams, that's really crazy, except they were all mostly short ones (they might have only been like 4 dreams with multiple settings, i have no clue). Also, i think i'm getting to the end of my two weeks, hmm, i suppose i'll post an update at the end of that and then start making them every two weeks instead of whenever i'm lucid.

Wow, 12 dreams logged in one night! That's incredibly impressive. You've got my all-time record beat by a mile!

And congratulations, of course, on LD #8! Oh right, ha ha... this is the one with the demon lady.

The fact that you're starting to become lucid just from a "Feeling" that you are in a dream is a great sign. You're getting to know your dream life better and better and as that natural recognition builds you'll have more opportunities to become lucid. Keep nurturing that and getting plenty of good sleep and you're going to love the results!

      Lesson 2 Homework:

Study up on all of the induction techniques listed here and find one that suits you = I picked DILD for now.

Practice your chosen induction technique for at least 2 weeks (although longer is preferred) before changing it to something else or ruling out that it's not working = Had 2 lucid dreams the past two weeks. Once i practice for a little longer, i should have more. So i will stick with DILD.

Continue to post all of your experiences, even failed ones, into your workbook.
= I will post a status update every 2 weeks.

      Optional:

Discuss your chosen technique with the teachers by posting in your workbook. There are lots of ways to go about each technique, we will be able help you find a method that suits you!

Choose a second (and possibly third) induction technique that compliments your first. For example, if you chose DILD you will also be able to perform WILD. = I'm just going to combine the first and second optional question into one here. So my techniques, Well, i do DILD which means i do reality checks at various times through the day. As well as that, i do All day awareness and dream yoga. And lastly, sometimes when i do a WBTB, i will either repeat a mantra and try MILD or just attempt a WILD. I haven't had a successful WILD yet and the MILD isn't too good either, but i'll get better.

If possible, it is highly advised to include WBTB into your routine.
= I wake up naturally after my first couple of dreams. I use this time to log my dreams and go to the bathroom, so a WBTB is basically already in my schedule.

Nice update, Subjects! DILD's obviously working very nicely for you, so keep doing what you're doing! The only additional complementary tech you might consider would be DEILD, since it fills that unique gap in the lucid dreamer's toolbelt -- converting NLDs or very short lucid dreams into full LDs.

But there's no rush on that! You've got great coverage as it is. Keep up the good work!

Two weeks have passed! It actually went by fairly quickly.

Okay so recent lucid progress and stuff(past two weeks):
I've had 4 lucids, the quality is still sort of low but it seems to be improving a little.

I've also had some pretty amazing and fun regular dreams. Most notable would be the fun i had with my group of vampires and a meeting i had with a spirit.

And now i have another two weeks ahead till my next update. Time to have some lucid dreams

Nice, Subjects! It sounds like you've had a great couple of weeks. Congratulations on the lucids! I'll be sure to check out some of your recent DJ entries.

I think that the improvement in NLD quality is a cool side effect of lucid dreaming practice. I actually had to work consciously at this (even getting a lot of help from some of the talented dreamers on this site) but it means that you're probably looking forward to something cool even if lucidity doesn't quite come together.

      Good works!

      Another Two weeks!
So in these last two weeks, i've had like a week and a half of band camp so i haven't gotten much sleep. It ended last friday though my sleep schedule is getting back on track. Although since friday, i watched a movie one night and my sister had a party the other so it's taken a bit longer. But last night, after my sister's friends went to sleep, i was able to log a decently long dream for the first time in about a week.

Now about progress on lucidity. This week, i managed to have two lucids in one night! I also managed in those two lucids to practice changing the environment, it was quite the experience. When i wanted to change my environment, i spun in a circle and imagined the environment in my head. It started out like i was looking at a movie screen. There was a city on the screen and it wasn't very detailed, but as the screen moved through the city, the detail increased and then poof! i was there. I also managed to test my senses and improve the detail of the environment and really root myself in the dream. I even at one point, visited an art gallery. Other then those two lucids, i also had one more lucid. Pretty good for not getting much sleep xD

I also noticed, on nights when i had enough sleep and logged my dreams, that It's starting to get to the point now, that my non lucid dreams are starting to get a lot more detail and feeling to them.

Awesome results, Subjects, especially given your questionable band camp sleep. Two lucids in one night is a great result even for perfect sleep, so kudos there.

Yeah, the increase in NLD quality is an excellent side effect of LD practice. The whole night is full of good stuff to look forward to that way.

Congrats on a great two weeks under challenging circumstances!
