      AKASammy's Workbook

Welcome to my notebook! I was just sent to this forum, and decided I'd follow you guys' advice and make this. I hope you enjoy it.

      Reality Checks:
      -Nose pinch
-I ask myself how I got to where I am and if there is anything dream like going on around me

      Dream Signs:
      -I haven't found one yet

      Short Term Goals:
-Have my first lucid dream within the next month.
      -Find my dream sign
-Gain a higher level of clarity in all of my dreams.

      Long Term Goals:
-Gain a high level of lucidity and general control
-Lucid dream at least once a day, and with ease
      -Meet my dream guide
-Be able to create the setting of my dreams
-Be good enough to be considered a pro
      -Become very good at DEILDING
      -Master ADA

      My Recall:
-1-2 very vague and unclear dreams a night. (I have had one relatively clear dream)

      Techniques I've Been Working On:
      -The Freefall Technique by KingYoshi
      -ADA

      Mantras:
-I'm having a lucid dream tonight.

Good to have you here, AKASammy!

Have you started up a dream journal? Even if your dreams feel vague and unclear to you now, spending time journaling and really paying attention to them will improve your recall greatly over time. I began trying to LD with almost no dream recall. But after enough time journaling and focusing on remembering as much about my dreams as possible, it really came along. Write down any bit that you can recall, even if it's nothing more than a vague feeling. Stick with it and it'll really help.

Keep us updated on how you do!

Yes, I've been keeping a dream journal pretty consistently. I'm just waiting for results to follow.

Today I attempted at a WILD by putting on the inception soundtrack (which happens to have binarual beats in it) on and visualizing the dream I wanted to enter. The visualization started to shape itself some, but it didn't as vivid as I think it could have. It turned out to be a pretty awesome scene, but not complete, and when I tried to project my self or move into the dream it didn't work; I've had trouble with this a couple times. Anyone have any advice or questions?

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Thanks, Paige.

I did the same thing today as I did last time and hit the same road block.

Okay, let's break down what your experience is like. But first, full disclosure: I didn't have an unassisted WILD until my 50th lucid dream. Like, as in, the last one I just had. LOL. So I'll probably leave the specifics to the strong WILDers like OpheliaBlue, Xanous, and the all-powerful paigeyemps.

First, can you describe when you are performing your WILD? It sounds like you might be trying at the beginning of the night. While this is certainly possible (Xanous has done it), it's usually thought of as pretty advanced stuff.

WILDs (and, in fact, nearly all lucid dreaming techniques) are much, much easier after a WBTB. This involves sleeping for about 5-6 hours, waking up for a while (perhaps 30 minutes), and then going back to bed performing your chosen induction technique. This makes lucidity far more likely. I have only a small number of LDs that didn't come coupled with some form of WBTB. It's that powerful. Again, you don't have to do it, but it makes for a much smoother ride.

Even if you have trouble during a WILD attempt, a strong ADA practice will give you a shot at a DILD. Anyhow, maybe walk us through what your attempts are like, when you perform, and how long you've been at it with this technique of WILDs in general. I'm sure we can get you pointed in the right direction.

Well, lately I've just been experimenting with ADA and two WILD techniques. My last two posts were attempts at a WILD technique I heard about somewhere in the WILD forum, where you visualize the dream world you want to enter, for example I was visualizing myself stand on the peak of a snow-capped mountain in a mountain range. My mountain was surrounded by a moat sort of body of clear reflective water. As I was doing this I kind of had the idea to let my mind fill in, so I did. The mountains around me grew more detailed, though not completely vivid; I could look down and see my feet which were pretty clear, stairs down the mountain I was standing on began to appear, avalanches would start down the sides of the surrounding mountains, but I couldn't see the avalanches in the reflection of my moat because when the avalanches hit the moat they would start falling up the reflections of the mountains. (which I thought was pretty cool) At this point the image was pretty clear, (though I could tell there were some imperfections) so I tried to project dream self into the dream world my sub-contious had created, which didn't work. I tried to make it even more clear, but I couldn't. I then opened my eyes and it was over.

Sorry if I broke it down a little too much, but I think it was pretty cool, especially since a lot of it came from my sub-contious. I also tried the freefalling technique of Jeff777's just now, and I actually started to enter SP but woke up because my mind instantly sharppened when my body stopped feeling, my arms felt like they were melting into my chest, and the white noise in my ears grew. Sorry again for getting long-winded
