      Filipk's Workbook

I have a dream journal here:
-Newer entries, from January 29, 2013 onwards
-Older, entries 1-52 from January 2012 to September 10, 2012

      Reality Checks:
      -Main check - nose plug.
-Checking how many fingers I have on my hands.
-Trying to put my finger through my hand.

      Dream Signs:
-It is difficult to find some concrete ones at the moment.
-Many dreams are set in Poland.
-Even more dreams take place in my school.
-I am often with family, particularly my father.
-Quite often i'll have dreams in which i'm running late for a bus or train and I have to hurry in order to get onto it.

      Short-Term Goals:
-Use WBTB a few times after increasing recall.
      -Attain lucidity!

      Long-Term Goals:
-Waking life: increase amount of sleep!
-Waking life: continue to do reality checks regularly throughout the day.
-Perform a concert for dream characters.
-Go to a time in the distant past.
      -Meet a possible "dream guide"

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
-Recall is currently lower than usual. I will continue using my dream journal and read it before bed each night.

      Current Technique:
-No formal technique I am actually trying right now.
-Currently working on getting recall to its max and do DILD.
-When I have time, I will attempt WBTB with DILD.

      Lesson I
-Time going to bed, ~22:45. Wake-up time, ~5:10

Why I want to lucid dream:
I feel that learning to lucid dream would be a nice way to learn about myself and my mind. I find the idea of having some level of control of an environment, characters, and actions in my dreams really exciting. I suppose I can also gain some better confidence in general through dreaming.

There's a lot of things i'd want to do in a lucid dream but the first things that pop into my head.. I'd probably be kissing girls right and left (). I'd of course want to fly, or play in the world of a television show or book. On top of that it'd be nice to just have conversations with dream characters. The fact that you can be talking to "somebody" that is really just your mind is just astonishing.

Welcome to the Intro Class, filipk!

So i'm guessing your main reality check is the noseplug then? Feel free to fill in those slots in your post! Or if you are unable to, you can ask any of the apprentices or moderators of the Intro Class to do it for you there is a list at the bottom: Intro Class (OpheliaBlue RareCola CanisLucidus Chimpertainment Xanous)

Also, did you mean to put a link when you said "I have a dream journal here:" ? I guess you can't post links yet if you're less than a week old on the site.. soon though, sooooon!

Have a nice day, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks very much! I'll be working on this workbook a bit more now.

And yes, I'll place the link as soon as I am able to. I have found that posting my dream journal on a blog kind of site works best for me.

Welcome, filipk! It's great to have you here.

I notice that you don't get a whole lot of sleep at night. (A little under 6.5 hours?) This can be a tough thing to adjust, but I've found lack of sleep to be a pretty significant obstacle in dream practice, at least for me. On occasion, I've had lucid dreams and good recall on nights with little sleep, but it's comparatively rare vs. the nights where I am relatively well-rested.

Do you have any days where you can sleep in? Or, even better, do you have any options for increasing the amount of sleep that you get every night?

Hey, if it'll let you PM the link to your Dream Journal to me, I'll be happy to edit your main post and include the link in there. Sorry about the somewhat-annoying one week waiting period on posting links. I remember running into that constantly when I first joined!

I'm often trying to get more and more sleep, it looks like it will benefit my general well-being while improving my dreaming. I do admit that i'll have to discipline myself to make this work.

Looks like tomorrow is my one week mark, though..I'm feeling like I made the right choice by signing up!

I sure have, for 2 days at least . It can be difficult, given how used I have been to how I usually sleep, but I feel a lot better throughout the day because of it. My recall has been unusually low so far, but I should have no trouble getting it back up again, reading your dream journal before bed is surprisingly effective. In terms of reality checks, I barely even think about them, but fortunately I find myself doing them often during the day, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I just put the link up for the dream journal as well. I can say I had a pretty good first week (Thank you dreamviews!).
