      Covlad96's New Workbook

Hello, right I basically decided to start a new workbook as my old one is kinda big and I would like see how I've progressed starting from today

      Reality Checks:
      - Nose Pinch
      - Looking at hands
      - Pushing finger through hand

      Dream Signs:
      - I'm not quite sure at this moment, but when my recall gets a bit better I will check back

      Short-Term Goals:
-Improve recall to at least a dream (not a fragment) a night
      - Improve awareness
      - Have a lucid

      Long-Term Goals:
-Have a few LDs a month
      -Visit SPACE!
      -Recall 3 dreams a night

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      -Roughly 10/14 LDs

      Current Technique:
      -DILD and MILD

I'll be posting everyday on the: Times I went to sleep; Amount of dreams recalled; How awareness and RC'ing went through the day etc...

Covlad, it's great to have you back at it! There's nothing wrong with a fresh start.

I'm sure that you'll shortly have it all back and more. I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress... into SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, yesss. I've always wanted to go space. I made it to the edge of the atmosphere while flying in a LD but then I woke up So I'll try maybe teleporting or something next...

Anyway last night, I went to sleep a little earlier than usual at about 11:30, i probably fell asleep about 11:45. Before I went to sleep I drank two glasses of water so I woke up and could write notes of any dreams. This worked by the way. I managed too recall 2 dreams, a fragment and my emotions from a dream I couldn't recall well. I then woke up at 7:05 feeling really refreshed and not even tired! it was great! Also, I visualized what i would like to happen in a LD before I fell asleep and repeated the mantra 'I recall my dreams.'

Today has went well for a start to my RCing and awareness I have done about 5 RCs followed through with the awareness of my surroundings etc. Also I'll post my favourite dream I have from the night before into my DV dream journal

      Hey covlad, welcome back!

Do you still have to do that paper route early in the morning?

Thank you, and yes I do. I wake up at 7 it takes me 15 mins at most about 80% of the time, then I go back to sleep for 30/60 mins during the week and about another 3/4 hours at the weekend!

Last night I done the same method similar as the night before. Apart from I didn't drink any water. I went to sleep at 11:30, and I recorded one dream. However today I didn't wake up refreshed I woke up tired unfortunately haha. I only had half a day at sixth form today so I came home and accidentally fell asleep at about 1:45 for an hour and a bit. I also recorded a dream from that. I'm gonna write up my favorite 3 dreams from the past 3 nights into my DV journal now.

Today working on awareness has been slightly better or on par with yesterday. I've RC'd more, well I feel like I'm starting to remember to randomly RC more frequently now anyway... Thats all for today

Well I read your dreams, looks like your recall is really good.

So you said you went to bed at 11:30 but when you woke up you still felt tired. What time did you wake up I'm curious, 7?

Yeah, 7. I usually wake up tired with however much sleep I have. Its just that the night before I felt refreshed waking up, so I was just saying back to normal now.

Last night, went to sleep at 00:30/01:00, woke up at 7 and went back to sleep at 07:15 till about 13:15. I recalled 3 full pretty detailed dreams. There's definitely chances for me to get lucid, just got to pass the habits from waking life into dreams now.

Tonight I'm going read some awareness tutorials and start putting it more into practice over the next few days

Poop.. just missed you in chat Guess it's about bedtime for you. Anyway, I know that reading up on the awareness stuff will kick your subC in gear for some lucids!

Yeah, I kinda logged into chat and forgot I had the tab open, so I would of forgot to reply haha

Last night, I went to sleep at 01:37, then woke up at 8:15. I remembered a dream fragment and a dream. I then went back to sleep at 08:30 and woke up at 12:30. I recalled 1 more dream and had the chance to recall another. What I did was I tried to close my eyes and remember more details but I fell asleep.

I was wondering, I get like at least one a night these dreams where I'm kinda shifting points of view. Like one minute I recall being 1st person, then the next I'm 3rd, then in the same dream i'm focused on a car really far away when really I'm sat on a bench about 50m away. Does this happen to anyone else? I so much prefer recalling everything in 1st person.

Oh I do that all the time, it's super annoying. Fortunately it doesn't happen in lucids for me, since the awareness level is much higher. But sometimes I've lost lucidity, and then I switch to 3rd. I think the point is, and you're doing this already, is to keep the awareness practices going. Not sure if this would help with switching points of view in your nonlucids, but it should help you get lucid more, and in first person more. Just my prediction anyway

I've only had one lucid where I was in third person but it was one of them lower level lucids. So yeah, I reckon awareness does help a lot!

Last night it took me ages to fall asleep, I went to sleep at like 02:30 woke up at 7:15 and was back in bed at 07:30 then I woke up at 11:30. I remembered a dream fragment and a dream last night. Also last night I had a dream I was scrolling through twitter and people were tweeting about lucid dreaming. Its definitely passing into my subconscious again now!

Also do you do all day awareness or do you just put all your focus on awareness when you go to do a reality check?

The night before last I didn't record any dreams, I had one but forgot to write it down!

Last night was a good night, went to sleep at 01:00 woke up at 07:00 back to sleep at 07;15 and woke up again at 11:15. I recorded two dreams and........ A LUCID DREAM! I had great awareness at the start of the dream but it slowly deteriorated asthe dream went on. But it was actually quite a long dream to be honest. I'm quite happy, it hasn't took me nearly as long as I thought to get my first LD again! The dream is here is you wish to read

Congratulations on the LD, covlad! That's great news. I hope that it's a great confidence-booster having your old skills come back to you now that you're calling on them again.

Heh, I see that you remembered your goal of going into space. Nice job with the portal summon, and I don't blame you one bit for backing off. Looks like you had a great time!

Hey, I decided to post back into my workbook as I think this class is super awesome. I recently joined the DILD class because I thought that may be a good place for help with MILD if I needed it. I dunno if I'm allowed to be in two classes at once, am I? But I like posting in here. Anyway I've been going for about week now and had a lucid last night. It was about 5 mins long, and the awareness was quite low at the start but picked up near the end. I had quite a fun time haha.

I've started listening to the podcasts, its very good so far I'm about to go off and listen to the other half in a minute. I was happy to hear the podcasts started again as I used to listen to all of the others

Hey man! Yeah you can join as many classes as you can keep up with. You've probably got about all you need out of the intro class, so moving on to a more specialized induction class like gab's is not a bad idea. You already know the basics, and can get lucid when you work at it, and you still get them randomly when you're not focused on them. So consider yourself a graduate! You can keep up with your workbook in here for as long as you like of course. We're here if you ever need anything.

Congrats on the lucid last night too, and thanks for listening to the podcasts

Congratulations on the lucid! Five minutes is actually a nice lucid. If you're focused, you can get a lot done in 5 minutes. And I know what you mean about keeping up an Intro Class workbook. There's just something about this place -- this is where I really found my way and it's always nice to return home.

And yeah, thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy them. I am really stoked that these have started back up. They were going strong when I first started here so the whole thing makes me really nostalgic. Got a bunch of LDs listening to episodes close to bed time!

Thanks man, five minutes felt like quite a long time for a lucid but you know when you're not quite aware its just not as satisfying. Yeah, so I began to work on my awareness over the week and working on self awareness which I've never done before and I got a lucid last night! I done some dream control and fully stabilized my dream, in fact I remembered something from the Q&A podcast which I was going to do to help stabilize the dream. This dream was about 5 minutes as well but felt so much better because of actually being in an aware and stabilized dream. So if you want to read it, its here.

Great! It sounds like that awareness work has paid off handsomely. It's great that you're picking up on the subtlety of self-awareness so well, which is a concept that really eluded me for a long time. (Still something I really try to work on.) Knowing where you fit into the "story" you inhabit and activating your critical, questioning mind... these things seem to help tremendously with LD rates, from my experience.

So congratulations on that lucid last night! I'm especially thrilled to hear that your were able to use some ideas from the podcast! That's really wonderful to hear. I'm gonna check out that DJ entry!

And thank you very much! LD #113 seems to be giving me some resistance, but when I get it, it's gonna be a good one.
