      ybm's Workbook

Hi all! I've been trying to lucid on and off for the past few months and I've tried out various techniques and I feel the MILD technique will suit me best. My mantra is: "I will reality check in my dreams tonight". This mantra and technique I believe will yield the best results and by joining in this class, I hope that I will receive helpful tips and motivation to keep going.

      Welcome to MILD/DILD workshop!

MILD - Mnemonically Induced LD - is basically just a mantra, that reinforces your intent. If you put enough intent and excitement into it, it should work. You can repeat it during day and also as falling asleep. It's most effective when you say it in those last moments just before falling asleep.

But just for a little bit of more work, you can double and triple your chance of becoming lucid.

      1. During day, on a few occasions you stop what you doing and ask yourself a question if you are dreaming.
      2. Then you do RC and say your mantra.
      3. You do this also just before bedtime.

Full version of DILD is in Collection of techniques for DILD.

Here you will also find info about dream recall, dream journal and different mantras. So if you interested adding these to your MILD practice, please take a look and post your questions either here or in the thread. So good luck and looking forward to your first lucid!

Hey gab, I'm having some problems remembering to RC during the day. I only remember about 2-4 times a day and I'd really like to do it about every hour. Any tips you have to help me out here?

You can give yourself some reminders. Like a sticky note on a place you frequent - laptop, bathroom, kitchen sink...
If you have digital watch, you can set it up so it beeps on the hour. Or set up a timer, each time for different length. A bracelet - rubber band, or even just a string.

When I did RCs by my watch beeping on the hour, first I waited for a beep, but very soon I started to look at my watch to see if it's time yet and do RC at that time. Then later on, you will remember to RC, because you will remember your watch beeping and you will remember to RC even before the watch beeps.

Some like to RC each time they do something - like walk through the doorway, use the restroom, get in a car, or something that repeats often.

You can also RC when you see something unusual. Tell you the truth, there is not much unusuall stuff happening in my life, so I just said to myself "that's weird", when noticing something not so weird, just maybe out of ordinary. Like a loud car, neighbor coming home from work early, strong wind, classmate didn't come to school...

Or when you see your dream sign.

But best thing is to RC at random times. Just in case you don't notice your dream sign or something weird in your dream, you can still get lucid from a random RC.

Just remember to put emotions into doing them and also into the awareness question and when you say "that's strange". That question is the main lucidity trigger, RC is just to confirm.
