      Tuckson's workbook

      Hello dreamers!
      I'm Tuckson, a spanish, 29-yo lucid dreamer .
A bit of my background on lucid dreaming can be checked on my Introduction post.
In short, I've been able to Lucid Dream in the past a couple of times, but I wasn't aware of any of the techniques to stabilize dreams once you're lucid, nor of all the induction techniques that exist.

This is an ability that I really want to learn, and I'll work hard to get a good lucid-dreaming-flow going . Thanks to all people responsible for the creation of this courses and the forum!

      See you around .

      Reality Checks:
      - General awareness
      - Pinching my nose and trying to breathe
      - Trying to push my finger through my hand

      Dream Signs:
      - (Working on it)

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Learn to properly stabilize a dream once I'm lucid.
      - Ask someone in my dreams if he/she knows that this is a dream and how he/she feels about it.
      - Find one dream sign.
      - Look in a mirror.

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Fly (in LD)
      - Know myself enough to determine what helps me to have good dream recall and dream lucidity
      - Be able to materialize anything I want (in LD)

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - I've had better times for dream recall, being able to recall up to 4 dreams in a single night. I started again not long ago, so I can recall at least 1 dream or a fragment of one of the dreams each night.
      - I had a Lucid Dream a couple of nights ago

      Current Technique:
      - DILD

      Sleep schedule
      - Usually from 23h00 to 7h00
      - If I go out and I arrive later than that time, I usually sleep from the time I arrive until 8h-10h in the morning (regardless the time I go to bed). This does not happen very often .

Motivation (why I want to lucid dream)
      - I believe this is an important step in my spiritual journey
      - Lucid dreaming will provide a goo foundation for beginning to Astral Projection
      - I believe I can talk to my subconscious.
      - I can learn to confront my fears.
      - I can live any kind of adventure without physically leaving home.
      - It's super-fun!

What will I do in my next Lucid Dream
      - First, I will stabilize the dream by touching the ground and/or walls (last time I did this, it was so cool I want to repeat)
      - Second, I'll ask people if they know this is a dream and how do they feel about it

Ideas for the future (list to be updated)
      - Ask someone in my dream if they represent any part of my subconscious. Or what part of "me" do they represent.
      - Try to invoke something like my animal totem: an animal that me (or my subconscious) would be attached to.
      - Try to invoke a physical representation of my subconscious to ask questions.
      - Fly
      - Perform a Kamehameha
      - Check the Tasks of the Year/Month and Dares
      - More ideas: http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.c...id-dreams.html
      - More ideas (II): http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.c...hallenges.html

Ok, so I've read Lesson I and II, and the tutorials for DILD and MILD, which are the techniques I'm going to try, preferably MILD.

I'm going to apply the Night-time routine (or night ritual as I call it), described by RareCola, every possible night as I've been doing lately. I believe that creating an atmosphere of awareness and relaxation before going to bed can greatly improve your LD chances.

Also, I'm going to practice All Day Awareness (ADA) as described by KingYoshi. I like meditation and one of my objectives regarding meditation itself is to be aware as much as possible during the day. So I'll use the technique described in the article and stop for some minutes throughout the day to be mindful about what's going on in that moment. I will perform some RC afterwards .

And with that, I think I'm set for a couple of weeks of good practice!

My dream recall has improved too, recalling more and more fragments of dreams each night (last night, for example, 3).

I liked the concept of Dream Yoga too, but that will have to wait yet. I better focus on one thing at a time! Hehe.

PS: Thanks NyxCC! I'll let you guys know if I need some advices or answers

      Another lucid!
Lately I'm having good recalls of my late dreams. I'm writing in my DJ every time I wake up during the night (something I can do now that I don't work during the mornings) and I've learned that the dreams I have in the early night are not as clear as the ones I have towards the morning. Specially after 4-5 am (going to bed at 23h more or less).

And a funny thing happened to me last night, during my LD. I was thinking about my short-term goal of asking DCs if they knew this was a dream and how they felt about it, so I asked some random DCs about it. Unexpectedly, some DCs didn't know that was a dream! The first time I asked and received a "No", destabilized my dream, hehe. Later, I found 2 girls saying "Yes", but I didn't expect anyone saying No.
That had me thinking: If the DCs are part of my subconscious (as I thought they were), how come some of them are not aware of the dream state? Ohhh, it seems I'm going to have a lot of fun talking to DCs xD. Unfortunately, I can't remember the answer of the girl when I asked her "How did she feel about that situation".
      Next time .

      Congratulations on the lucid, Tuckson!

You are exactly right; you are going to have lots of fun talking to DCs! Their behavior, appearance, and apparent intelligence varies so widely that I find this is something that never gets old.

I've also had the DCs that act offended or in denial when I mention that this is a dream. Others accept it without complaint or appear to have already known and act cute about it. You just never know what you're going to get!

DCs are still part of your subconscious, sure, but think of them as actors in a stage production. Their default script is written by processes that you don't consciously control, although their behavior will tend to change and reflect your moods and actions. And you can, of course, directly control them whenever you wanted to, but this is much less fun (at least IMO) than just seeing how things proceed on their own.

Congrats again and keep up the great work!! Keep talking to those DCs and let us know how it goes!

      That's fantastic! Congrats, Tuckson!

I agree with what CL said, you never know what your DCs will come up with. This can be a lot of fun, especially when they reply with witty sentences or things that don't make sense at all. I remember for one totm we had to ask a DC to tell us a word in a foreign language and its meaning. This is what I got :

Seems like you have a really sturdy foundation mate! Also congratulations on the LD! As for improving your dream recall my first step was taking a daily journal of my waking life, it got me into the habit of writing but also helped my memory substantially. Another step I took to increase my recall was practising all day awareness (I think we call it that, right?) in which you took a moment out of your day to really focus on everything happening - the sounds, feelings, colours - everything that is happening, I'm not 100% sure on the science or practicality behind this practice, but it really helped me with both recall and just enjoying life (corny right.) Only problem I had with all day awareness was I often practised it in class and got in trouble for not paying attention to the things I was supposed to be focusing on.

Anyhow, enough banter, good luck and stick at it man! You're doing magnificently.

Thank you for stopping by, guys!
I had another lucid two nights ago. A bit shorter, but I'm pretty sure this time was awareness which made me Lucid. I'll upload it when I'll get back home next week.

I'll be abroad for a week, visiting a friend in Norway (it's kind of cold up here >_<). It's going to be a bit hard to do my Lucid exercises, but I'll try to write on my DJ and do my awareness sessions. Also, I bought the book of LaBerge "Exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming". Very, very, very good so far (Chapter 1 and 2).

This is great news mate, really happy to hear you are making progress! I'm also glad to see that you are seeing a direct impact on your dreams from the different things you are doing in your waking life, it is a very satisfying feeling indeed.

      Hello again, guys!
It's been a couple of weeks off Lucid Dreaming more or less. The trip and some last-minute website submissions had me setting aside LD for all this time. Also, lack of proper organization aggravated the problem. The result: my dream recall has decreased.
So, I'm starting again from that point: Dream Recall until I fill up a couple of pages of my Dream Journal .
During all this time, however, I had a couple of short LDs and recorded some dream fragments. I have also started reading LaBerge's book (Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming) and I'm going to apply his method to categorize Dream Signs in the DJ.
      So, let the fun continue!
