      Jinxinator's Workbook

Hey, guys, so this is gonna be my workbook for Intro Class. Not too sure about what to write in here, so here we go. I'm Jinxinator and I'm very, very excited about the prospect of lucid dreaming! I have many goals I would like to achieve in my dreams and this seems like the way to do it, since daydreaming doesn't feel like the real thing, lol.

      Reality checks:

I look at my hands and count my fingers, and I pinch my nose and try to breathe. I also occasionally look at the time and use memory checks.

      Dream signs:

      Haven't found any yet!

      Short-term goals:

Actually become lucid and have better dream recall.

      Long-term goals:

Hoping that when my dream recall goes up, it stays up! ... and be able to control dreams to my liking.

      Lucid/dream recall history:

No lucids, only a few dreams (started a DJ a week ago).

      Current technique:

I'm not too sure, but MILD sounds promising!

Homework ... my worst enemy. Okay, here's the homework for Lesson I.

Time I usually go to bed: 10:00 - 11:00PM. I wake up naturally around 2:00 - 3:00AM, which means I sleep for about four hours before waking (this happens every night). No other natural awakenings, unless I'm having a bad night for sleep.

The reality checks I do are usually twice every hour, or after walking through a door, and every time I wake up. Today I didn't do any reality checks, except for this morning when I got up. I felt very, very lazy ...

Let's see ... *checks list* My list of things to do in a lucid dream for motivation: flying. I just wanna fly, then I'll make new goals. It's always been a dream of mine to be able to fly! And my nightly routine is setting my dream journal onto a blank page, and now since I'm gonna try MILD, reciting mantras in my head.

I haven't even bothered with doing anything lucid-dreaming related 'cause I've been so tired the past few days. Something to do with my sleeping pattern so I need to get more sleep. Anyway, I might as well post Lesson II homework here.

I've looked at the induction techniques and I still think MILD looks like the best for me. It involves mantras and memory and I should be good at that with enough practice. Plus, I've heard that mantras are very powerful! I'm going to try this out in a few days or so when I have had enough sleep and I'll make sure to post my results. Also, does anyone know any good mantras for me to try? And please give me more tips on this!

WILD sounds very complicated and hard, and I don't want to experience HI and stuff. It sounds pretty scary. That, and I don't have enough experience or practice.

DILD means getting into the habit of doing reality checks and staying more aware. Reality checks I can do - but I probably won't be patient enough to turn it into a habit - and the awareness thing is extremely hard to do; my mind always wanders even when I'm concentrating on clearing my mind the best I can.

And I've also looked into WBTB as another technique. Does it really help recall, and how will I know when I'm close to a REM cycle?

Welcome to the class Jinx! At work so here's a short and swear to your mantra question. Check out this MILD tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...id-dreams.html

It has examples of mantras for you too.

Okay, I haven't been active. Sorry. I've been taking a break cause of stress and exams. My dream recall went from 2-3 vivid dreams straight down to zero a few days ago. I might as well start MILD now to get my dream recall back up. I really hope this dry spell ends! So I'm gonna set an intention tonight and say the mantra, "I remember my dreams vividly, and I know I'm dreaming." I'll set the mood and really want this when I say the mantra.

My dream recall must come back! I love my dreams! Anyway, I'll report back soon, maybe tomorrow, on how this goes. Oh, and if possible, would any of you guys would like to go over my mantra. I'm not sure if it's okay or not and I might need a few pointers.

      Until tomorrow. Goodnight!

Tried MILD last night for dream recall using my mantra. I remembered two dreams, although for the second one I had to keep still with my eyes closed to remember it. I'm glad my recall is coming back. Soon I'll be able to start working on my progressive memory for setting intentions to become lucid. Yes!

Family problems at the moment so I'm pulling an all nighter tonight. Probably won't be doing anything lucid dreaming related for a few days. Will get back to it soon when stress goes down.

Congratulations on the recall coming back! Virtually every aspect of dream work is improved when recall improves.

No shame in having to keep your eyes closed for a bit in order to remember a dream. That's how I remember most of mine these days.

Keep up the good work and let us know how the prospective memory training goes! And don't forget to make sure you're not dreaming right now.
