There's nothing wrong LD-wise with sleeping in a little late so long as you're not also staying up late. In fact, those mornings where I get to sleep in (incredibly rare!) are incredibly fertile ground for lucid dreams!

Don't get discouraged. Set your intent before sleep and every time you awake, hold still, relax, and just try to focus on the dream scene you just left. Pull back anything you can and gently try to reel the rest of the dream in.

And above all, keep journaling! Write down anything, even fleeting emotional residue.
