      Lucidity333's Workbook

Thank you so much for the opportunity to expand my lucid dreaming abilities and to connect with people who have similar interests and experiences. I am excited to explore the limits of our consciousness together!

      Reality Checks:
Some ideas that I have that I am going to start doing are: looking down at my hand throughout the day, whenever I notice the tattoo on the palm of my hand I will ask myself "am I dreaming?" I know that I do not have the tattoo when I am dreaming (possibly stick my finger through my hand for good measure). Another is whenever I notice a synchronistic time (e.g. 1:11, 3:33, 12:34), which I do often, I will ask myself if I am dreaming and perform the reality check of breathing through my closed nose.

      Dream Signs:
So, usually I realize I'm dreaming when it occurs to me that something in the dream world is different than real life. Obviously that isn't guaranteed to happen because sometimes weird stuff happens and I am completely convinced it is real and sometimes totally normal stuff is happening in my dream and chances are it could be real life! Looking back, it seems like what has triggered a recognition of the dream state for me is just a feeling (or seeing my ex boyfriend, which happens often and never in real life). I then establish that I am dreaming by flying, usually.

      Short Term Goals:
My short term goals are to start establishing a practice of as many reality checks as I remember to do during the day and to try to stay lucid for longer periods of time once I recognize that I am dreaming. I also want to start recognizing when I wake up durning the night so that I can use the patterns to my advantage.

      Long Term Goals:
My long term goals are to heal past trauma by taking control of my dreams and to access information about my past lives in order to recognize the cycles present in my life more clearly.

      LD/Recall History:
I have been writing down my dreams consistently for almost a year. I remember them almost every day. I have a light up pen for when I wake up during the night, though I admit sometimes I trick myself into thinking I will remember a dream and then have completely forgotten by morning. I have experienced lucid dreaming quite a few times and every time I end up flying for my own enjoyment. I would like to explore what else I can do and really utilize these periods of lucidity for my own growth.

      Current Techniques:
Like I said, I have a consistent dream journal. I notice I am dreaming if I can fly and I fly when I notice I am dreaming, but I am really looking forward to trying out new techniques!

So, last night I tried a WILD technique, but I kept loosing track of my thoughts. I think that I for sure was addicted to this website for too long right before bed, so it took me longer to fall asleep. I do remember waking up very scared in the middle of the night from a pretty horrifying dream. I remember thinking to myself that I did not want to fall back into that dream so I did not bother trying to remember it or visualize the contents. Unfortunately that means I neglected to write anything about it down. I do remember waking up and seeing some towels hanging in my room and thinking someone was standing there and wondering if I was still dreaming, though I missed the chance to RC and possibly catch a FA, due to the fact that I genuinely did not want to be dreaming at that point! Looking forward to including some major RCs in my day today. I think that I could improve my chances of a WILD by trying the technique when I wake up during the night, that way I don't have to wait so long to fall asleep and into the dream state. Or maybe I'll take a nap today...though I've been notoriously bad at naps. Sometimes it helps to read a book till my eyes get droopy...
