      ✨DreamingInBlue's Workbook✨

Hello, just as a little introduction, I'm DreamingInBlue and I have never had a lucid dream. I'm hoping that taking this class will help me to learn how to lucid dream. I have absolutely no experience whatsoever, and though I've done some research, I'm still a beginner fumbling about in the dark.

      2. I've begun a dream journal here on DreamViews, but as I've only been a member for about a day, there aren't many dreams posted yet.

      3. I usually go to bed around 8:30-9:00 (I like going to bed early, it helps me de-stress), and I wake up anywhere between 5:00-6:30. On weekends I may stay up later and wake up later as well. However, I have insomnia and frequent nightmares, so I have a hard time falling asleep and wake up many times during the night.

      4. I don't quite know which reality check to use, but I've been trying pushing my finger through my palm. When I was watching the news and saw something hard to believe, I did a reality check and realized I was awake. When I was in the kitchen and knocked over a glass and caught it in midair, I did this same reality check. There were a few other occasions, but none I remember. I also asked myself if I was dreaming frequently.

      5. I want to lucid dream to:
~control and escape the awful nightmares that have been becoming more and more frequent
~explore the world of lucid dreaming and my own subconscious
      ~learn more about myself
~experience new things and everything lucid dreaming has to offer
~be able to dream walk and talk to other people who are dreaming, specifically so I can apologize to people from my past who I unintentionally hurt
~become more confident and practice being the person I want to be in real life
      ~meet interesting new people
~talk to and interact with dream characters

In my first lucid dream, I am planning on exploring my own dream for a while, maybe flying, maybe even attempting to dream walk. I definitely want to at least try flying.

      6. My nighttime routine is:
      -Get ready for bed
-Put pad and pen next to my bed
      -Read dream journal
      -Meditate
      -Fall asleep
      -Dream

      Reality Checks:
I haven't found one in particular that I like or that works for me, but I've only begun looking. I've been experimenting with pushing my finger through my palm.

      Dream Signs:
      -Being betrayed
      -People becoming angry at me
      -Being chased
-Something or someone trying to harm me
-My friends being injured or killed and me crying
      -Abandonment
      -Strange buildings
-Talking to friends I miss a lot
(There are probably more, but I can't remember any others right now)

      Short Term Goals:
-Write in my dream journal every day
-Find a reality check that works well and practice it every day
-Learn more and do more research on lucid dreaming

      Long Term Goals:
      -Learn how to lucid dream
      -Learn how to dream walk
      -Practice lucid dreaming often

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
I've never had a lucid dream.
I do remember at least one or two dreams each night in general. Some nights I am not able to remember anything, or I am left with just fragments; this occurs when I am sleep deprived or some other complication arises.
I vividly remember a dream from when I was six or seven years old.

      Current Technique:
      Still looking for one.

Meditating without trying to stay awake is a great way to fall asleep. That's what I do! If you combine the steps of your nighttime routine of meditating and falling asleep, you might find you have an easier time falling asleep while making your routine simpler at the same time.

That's good you wake up many times during the night. You have more chances to recall dreams this way.

Speaking of waking up, it's good to get in the habit of doing reality checks every time you wake up. Any time you wake up, you could be dreaming, especially if you fall asleep by meditating.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to start doing reality checks whenever I wake up. (:

Hey DreamingInBlue! Welcome to DreamViews! I realized how you often have unpleasant dreams and nightmares. Like you said, lucid dreaming would be the perfect solution to end those kind of dreams and improve your dream life and waking life also. Dolphin and Burke always have the greatest advice so they are really helpful. Good luck with your lucid dreaming and have fun!
