Not a beginner, but I'm having a lot of trouble recently so I figured maybe I missed some fundies (Fundamentals). Acting like I'm a beginner is also kinda fun since it reminds me of how excited I was when I first began my journey; not to say any of that vigor has left me!
Reality Checks:
- Sight, Sound, Touch: What Do I see, hear, and feel?
- Where am I and what am I doing here? > 15 minutes ago?
- This feels real, but I'm going to check anyways.
- The next time I'm dreaming, I'll remember I'm dreaming.
Ideally, I'd ask all of these questions every time, but usually I'd ask myself any number of them and in any order. Also, I've found that closing my eyes for a long blink seems to refresh my awareness, allowing me to more easily focus on details.
Dream Signs:
- My little cousin (We're practically brothers and in my dreams we always go on adventures together-- or he's in a corner somewhere eating cheese or something)

Short-Term Goals:
- Fly
- Cultivate Creativity
- Learn more about myself
Long-Term Goals:
- Obtain consistent lucid dreams, or Omnilucidity, by asking a dream character to explain to me that I am in a dream until I become lucid in at least one dream every night thereafter. Should be free, provided I can get in the dream and stabilize and whatnot.
- See what's really possible with LDs. Flying and fornication is fun, sure, but there's more to it than that. I have a desire to see where it leads, and a somewhat smaller one to see where it ends, if there even ARE limits to LD!
- Use dreams to better my waking life; use what I learn while awake to better my dreaming awareness.
Lucid/Dream Recall History:
- Interpreting this as "How is your dream recall before starting this workbook?" In the months prior? Crappy. If I actually try though? Several paragraphs after about 10 days.
Current Technique:
- DILD. Sleeping situation uncomfortable. Consistently causes nighttime wakeups due to back pain that ruins WBTB and WILD attempts. Working on it.
My Current LD Training Consists of:
- At least 5 RCs per day (As per Puffin's SAT method)
- Rating how thorough my RCs throughout the day are on a scale of 0% - 100%
- Listing as much Dream content recalled as possible; both the literal contents of the dream and perceived amount of time said content would take. (Actual contents are posted in my DJ.)
- Minutes Meditated
- Additional notes. I log the data in my entries as I get it.
