      I need help stopping this!

I'am hoping I've come to the right place. For whatever reason I dream all night long. I have anywhere from 5 to ten dreams a night. Some are really bad nightmares, others just plain wierd. The problem with this is I'am not very well rested in the morning. The best way to explain it is I should have just stayed up all night and watched t.v. I rememer bits and pieces.
If anybody can help me, please get back, thanks.

Do you have steady sleeping patterns or do they change everyday or so? That could be effecting your sleep too. About the dreams I don't know, try going lucid.

Are you a very light sleeper? If so, that may explain why you remember having so many dreams and also don't feel very well rested in the morning. In that case, I'd talk to a doctor to see if there's something you can do. But as wfdpitbull said, it may be that your sleep schedule is off and you're not getting as good sleep as you could.

Whoooaa 10 dream a night? As for as I can recall, one dream cycle from light-> dark -> light ->REM lasts 90 minutes. 15 hours is a pretty long time to be sleeping...

Hey tron. I don't need a smart ass remark. I said that I have between 5 and 10 a night. I remember bits and pieces. They may be the same dream. Who cares? All I want is it to stop.

You can have several dreams in one REM cycle, Tron.

wfdpitbull, I've had that weird dream pattern before too. I think what brings it on is having way too much on your mind or obsessing over something and maybe going to sleep too late. I'm not sure. Does that cause make sense to you?

I had this problem too... actually I think I still do, just now since discovering this board I try to make the best out of my dreams. Some of the advice I've heard: Try to change your eating habits, your bed (are you comfortable with it?), try to excercise more... that might help.

EDIT: If that doesn't help, try doing light jogging outside right before going to bed.
