      My First Dream Recall

Something happened to me last night. and i took a lot of thinking during the day to assertain. Sometimes what happens to me is i will see something in my waking state that i could swear reminds me of a similar experience but i just cant figure out what that is. i can remember specific and minor details but never where they came from or when or how they happened.

For instance (bear with my Movie reference) In inception characters jump from scene to scene and things about them change drastically which at first i thought nothing of. but realizing that this happens while you are dreaming made me realize some amazing details of my own dreams, bringing me to a great recall.

Last night i was dreaming of golfing, In a tournament which is weird because i kind of suck at golf. but my father is a 59 year olf PGA gold professional. so anyhow im at this tournament being held by Seve Ballestaros a very famous golfer. and im there with one of my old friends named john, who i am very cerain knows nothing of the sport. And we are playing, finally we finish the round and i notice someones golf cart, unmanned, driving in a consistent and tight counter clockwise circle. so i get out, and take control of this oddity and park it where its supposed to be. then i return to my own cart. to find my BEST friend, who is a fellow competitive snowboarder of mine named Teddy. this is odd to me because those two people are completely opposite. So after more dreaming, i shook Mr. Ballestaros's hand and bid farewell to some other players who are delighted at my manners haha. Teddy and i begin to leave this very lush and woodsy country club, when i noticed a sound. A sound very distinct which comes from the heel of expensive penny loafers clicking the ground as i walk. Identicle to the sound the ones that belong to my father make when i wear them. So i looked down to realize that on my left foot, sure enough is one of these Cole Haan loafers in brown. but what was strange is that on my right foot is one of my black shoes. But i think nothing of it at the time because i still have no idea im dreaming. this is until i take the brown shoe off, show my best friend and begin to laugh but i cant seem to force the shoe back onto my foot. so i use the ground as leverage. looking up i realize i am no longer at a gold course, i am in the urban streets of an unknown city. and therefore placing me at another location, at a house party with my best friend in my old home of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Back to my point that only when i went thru the rest of my day did i begin to notice the signifigance and remember what actually took place. Thinking of the movie reminded me that this had happened to me. which led to a profound moment in realization that i actually could remember such small details of my dreams and begin to understand their meaning.

Is this something that i should be happy about or could i possibly be moving too quickly?

Although i have only been keeping my dream journal for two days i find this also. I seem to find this happens more immediatly after i wake up though, as in i will lay there trying to remember a dream and i will notice something on my floor which will cause me to remember my dream in detail. I think this is probably a good thing as the better dream recall you can get the more likely you are to Lucid Dream =D

thats true! these happen to me even days after i have the dream, almost like deja vu. something that happens when im at work or something that someone says triggers something in my subconcious and i almost relive the dream again. my memories of my waking life have always been INCREDIBLY vivid and im starting to notice my subconcious record slight details of my dreams with the same vividness. i just hope to be diligent enough to be able to keep recalling dreams in the morning and making sure i write them down.

Yeah I think it goes with the idea that you never really forget something it is just stored, so when you see something or notice something be it days after the dream this can trigger the stored memory to come to the forefront of your mind =D I really like it when it happens =P makes you feel like your making real progress =)
