      Unhappy Help me please.

Hi there. I am having issues lucid dreaming. I need help with techniques or anything, really. A little info you may want to know...

I am 18. I normally go to bed between 1Am and 4AM and wake up at 12AM. I can change this because I take classes online and can do them any time of day.

I thought I was a hard sleeper but in my last 4 Lucid Dream attempts, I have woken up several times. Excitement maybe?

I noramlly sleep on my tummy, sometimes side, because I have lower back pain.

I have trouble remembering dreams. I have only remembered 2 dreams in the last 2 months. As far as my conscious mind is concerned, I don't dream (obviously I do or I would be crazy).

I have tried 4 different times and with a little bit of different techniques. (Always WILD) I have fallen asleep and slept the rest of the night or fallen asleep and continued waking up all night for all 4.

I tried Adam's tutorial as well as trying math problems to keep my logical part of my brain functioning. I have tried going to bed for 5-6 hours and then either the WBTB method or the have-caffeine-and-stay-up-a-hour-before-more-sleep method.

I am pretty set on doing this. Normally I wouldn't be so hard core about it but I have some pretty serious health issues that I am hoping to deal with there? I have been through Mayo Clinic for 2 years for various severe autoimmune symptoms. They say they have never seen them happen with such severe length or intensity by themselves, let alone in unison. One doctor suggested that it began as an auto immune issue and then my mind basically freaked out and started subconsciously attacking my body? So anyways, that is why I am so very much hoping to succeed at this.

Let me know if you need more. I have even been keeping a journal in the form of the scientific method and data. I cant begin how to explain my appreciation for your help!

The first thing to do is to improve your dream recall.
Then when you got couple dreams in your dream journal you can check for dreamsigns.
      That would help alot...

Here is my dream recall technique:
At bedtime, I ask my spiritual guide to help me waking up after every dream and to help me remember dreams. Then I visualize myself waking up from a dream, remembering the dream and noting the dream in my dream journal.
When I wake up, I sit in my bed to remember dreams or I fall asleep too fast. If you don't remember any dream when you wake up, ask yourself what you were dreaming about and clear your thoughts...Usually some visual will pop-up.
And sometimes, I don't remember any dream right away when I wake up, but by asking myself what I was doing, I can remember up to 3 dreams.

“Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly.”

reere has got it on the nose, start by improving your dream recall first for sure. A technique that really worked for me was to use keywords. Just setting the intention to remember your dreams right before bedtime will make a difference. When you do remember a dream(s) go through it in your mind as soon as you wake without moving the body (this will make a big difference) and then write down every detail you can possibly remember to exercise your recall muscles. When you've had a little bit of success there you can begin to maybe just right down some key words to jog your memory later at time when you've normally forgotten your dreams altogether (that is you if had not written them down). Later in the day come back to your key words and try and recall the details. I found with this method that I quickly began to remember so much and so many dreams that it became too cumbersome and time consuming to write them all down. Keep in my mind that I like you remembered little to dreams whatsoever when I began.

Furthermore, my other suggestion is that you settle on a simple course of action and stick to it. I mean decide on a single technique and be relentlessly persistent and confident and you'll almost undoubtedly see results. I think a common mistake is to read too much and try all sorts of things, varying the routine to frequently.

Once your dream recall is up, then begin to add in additional techniques for initiating WILD and/or DILD. And then the fun really starts . . .

For your recall I recommend getting some sticky notes and putting them RIGHT by your bed. Like the first thing you see in the morning is the sticky notes. On them you should put something like "DREAMS...what do you remember?" Think about it long and hard. Don't do anything else and make sure all your focus is on dreams. If you wake up by an alarm then the alarm can distract you from remembering your dreams.

Thank you very much! I hadnt even realized that I was getting ahead of myself. I should probably be able to remember my dreams before I try to be "in" them. XD
