      Hello!

Just yesterday I read about Lucid Dreaming, and last night I tried, using both the "I will remember my dreams" method, and using a binaural beat.
All I remember is waking up a lot last night, could I have been in a dream? I was to tired to remember to do any checks.

Also, what is the easiest way for a newbie to learn how to Lucid Dream? Thanks a lot!

      Hi MStat, welcome to dreamviews!

It's difficult to tell whether you were in a dream or not without some form of confirmation.

I suggest coupling your methods with some sort of stop-and-look-around technique that you do randomly every few hours. At this time you would also do a reality check. I strongly rely upon this for my lucids and it works very well (there's a link to a guide I made up in my signature). It's good to do a reality check when getting into bed, when waking up in the morning, and every time you get up in the middle of the night. And it's good to spontaneously do one every time you look at a clock, because time tends to change in dreams when you look once and then look again.

      Good luck! (:
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have a question, does doing a reality check, even though you know your awake and all, help you have a lucid dream at night?

Yes, it does. You have to really stop and consider that you may be dreaming though, or "create a burst of awareness" in that moment. Observe things more closely than normal, you know? You don't have to do this all the time, just in small quantities over days.

The more aware you are in waking life, the more you'll be in your dreams and you should eventually catch a lucid.

Once you have a few lucids, before actually becoming lucid you'll be acting as if you weren't dreaming. But, then your awareness from waking life will suddenly pop in and you'll be lucid. You'll learn that feeling and realize that you really should reality check all the time.

So, basically, like what happened to me last night, waking up and all, it was very possible I was dreaming?

I am very interested in this! It's really quite an amazing thing.

It's very possible you were dreaming! If you were, the dream would have been classified as a false awakening.

Unfortunately I can't vouch as to whether Binaural Beats work or not, because I've never tried them out. I've heard people post good results from them, though, so I'd give them a shot and see what happens.

With some people they help A LOT. With others (like me) they don't really at all.
