      Mixed feelings

Hey guys, I decided to join up after reading some stuff.

So of course, I have always wanted to lucid dream and with Inception (I'm lame, I know) I really want to get a hold on things. Previously I had believed that I had never had a lucid dream, but that is not true. I had one where I was flying and another crazy anime inspired dream. They were only semi-lucid because I don't think I fully realized I was dreaming, but it was still some of the coolest things ever.

I read a bunch of the guides last night before sleeping and decided to try WILDing. I tried the counting while breathing in and saying "I'm dreaming" (in my head) while breathing out. Somewhere in the upper 100's, things started to get weird. My hands got really heavy, I could no longer feel the covers on my body and (only upon snapping out of it did I realize) my hearing left. I started to get a feeling that my fingers were coming from my body and almost as if I could move them. The weirdest thing happened when it felt like my body was tilting to the right and my "dream body" was pulling out to the left. I was snapped out of all of this because my arm had a violent twitch.

I guess my question are this: Was I on my way to attaining a WILD? I usually twitch before I fall asleep (I have been told by many), but will it be a problem for me when trying to WILD?

Sorry for the rambling post, but this is an interesting concept that I want to explore and I am wondering if I actually did something right last night or was just making it up in my head

Sounds like you experienced a hypnogogic jerk, which commonly accompanies sleep paralysis. Read up more one SP and WILD on the site, and you'll find some ways to incorporate it into your LD regimen.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

      Hi, welcome to Dreamviews!

Taosaur explained it perfectly, it sounds like a hypnogogic jerk. They often happen when you become very relaxed.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yea I was very relaxed at that point. It threw me off because it was very strong. I wasn't sure if I should rouse myself, but I did anyway because I thought I blew my chance. Should I go and not move next time if that happens? I am going to try this again tonight along with keeping reality checks going. Sorry if this is the wrong place for asking questions.

Oh yea, almost forgot. I felt tremors run up and down my body a bit. They were very subtle, but I had no idea what was going on. I read a bit and think its just more signs of SP.

Thanks for the welcome! I am loving the site right now and just really want to leave work to give this a try XD
