      Hello.

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to lucid dreaming, although i have been attempting it for months. I have had a LD once or twice, but it was mostly luck and they didn't last more than a minute or so before I woke up. I have fairly good Dream Recall, and can remember most of my dreams fairly well, however, I also know that I am never really 'conscious' in a dream; as in, I remember everything as being fuzzy, and I'm right on the verge of waking up. Im not really sure how to describe it, but this makes it very difficult to have an LD, as Im not even really awake in my dream. What could I do to make it easier to LD?

If you have good dream recall, you are already halfway there. Check out the tutorial section of the site for some good tips:
      Tutorials

You probably want to start with the Dream Initiated Lucid Dream tutorial, and go from there:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/dild-tutorial-65032/

You will have two ways of increasing your chances of becoming lucid. Your daytime practices, and your nighttime practices. During the day, you can do things in your waking life that increase your awareness and make you more critical of your experiences. Reality checks (http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/realit...utorial-95033/) and Dream Signs (http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/dream-...utorial-65236/) will help with this. You can also plant the idea in your prospective memory that you will become lucid (http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/mild-tutorial-65458/).

At night, you can use Wake Back To Bed (http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/wbtb-tutorial-64626/) and Wake Initiated Lucid Dreaming (http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/wild-tutorial-66238/) to increase your chances of becoming lucid.

These are the basic tools available to us. You don't have to use all of them at once. Start with whatever appeals to you.

okay, thanks! but also, is there anything I can do to make my dreams seem more clear? Because right now, everything seems so blurred and fuzzy.

You could to improve the quality of your dream recall. In the morning, do you normally wake directly from a dream? Or do you remember dreams from earlier in the night? Changing your sleep schedule a few minutes in either direction might help you wake closer to a dream cycle. You could also wake after each dream throughout the night to write it down immediately. This is less disturbing than it sounds. We naturally wake briefly after each dream, then immediately forget about it and fall back to sleep.

It depends whether i was woken or if I woke up naturally. If someone woke me up, It is often in the middle of a dream, but if I wake up naturally, sometimes it is after a dream, but more often i remember dreams from earlier that night.

on the subject of dream journals, are they really necessary? Can I not just, after waking up from a dream, recall all the events from my dreams and burn them into my memory?
