Thread: I've only just realised what my dreams are.

I've been having lucid dreams for 2 years or so? I had know idea what they were until 2 weeks ago, when at a festival i attending a work shop about lucid dreaming.
I know i shouldn't complain, but i want them to stop so much. If i lucid dream at night i wake up in the morning feeling restless, extremely tired and confused. At first they felt like a novelty and enjoyable, now they just wear me out and i can't make them stop.

The main problem seems to be my lack of control over the dream, i know i'm dreaming and none of it is real, but i don't manage to take control over what is going on, most of these dreams are not enjoyable.

I also find it a massive challenge trying to leave the dream and get some 'real sleep/rest', and usually even if i do manage to snap out of it, when i fall back to sleep again I fall straight back into LDing.

I know i've probably come to the wrong place to complain but they're really starting to get to me. Anyone got any advice? Thank you so much


Edit: Incase it is relevant the first LD i remember having was after a night out and i fell asleep drunk. Several times since then alcohol or weed seems to induce extremely long and harder to control lucid dreams.
