Welcome, Bowie MILDs are my favourite, too
I also tend to "suffer" from short lucids. Walms is right, stabilizing definitely helps. Sometimes, the reason mine are short is because I tend to forget stabilizing
One of my favourite techniques is actually one I use right at the start of a lucid. And that is simply taking in the wonderment of the dream world By just stopping and experiencing the creation of my mind, it tends to make the dream that much stabler.
Also, if you find you are just losing the dream too soon (as in, "Yay, I'm luci- ... Never mind, I'm awake now..."), you can also try DEILDing. When you wake up, don't focus on losing the dream. Just daydream about that point you just exited from and remind yourself that you were just lucid at that point in your dream. You might be able to fall back to sleep straight away, back into the dream and retain your lucidity
