      Semi-lucid dreams?!?!?

about a week ago... i had a dream in which i knew i was dreaming. It was similar to my previous and only lucid dream, except i didn't care about that fact that i knew i was dreaming and didn't do a reality check... is this considered to be a semi-lucid dream?
I wander through the woods listening to the sound of nature. The sky turns red and opens before me. I realize that I must be dreaming... My adventure has just begun.

Nah...the definition of a lucid dream is knowing you're dreaming, so it sounds like you had your second lucid
"Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots. You see, reverend Maynard tomorrow is harvest day, and to them it is the holocaust."

The big "argument" I seem to find is whether you can be not-lucid, semi-lucid or full-lucid.

But the answer is kind of in the question, isn't it? Both semi-lucid and full-lucid use a common denominator: lucid

So, yes, that was your second lucid dream! What also happens (one I experience a lot myself) is, people tend to experience different levels of lucidity. I use a scale of 1-5 to determine my levels. A level one would be; being aware that I'm dreaming, but being unable, or just not logical enough to do anything about it. A 5th level would find me incredibly lucid, experiencing the dream as if I was experiencing something awake I would have all my logical thoughts, memories from waking life and knowledge of this being a dream and the ability to influence it.

Sounds like what I had last night, I was lucid and did a reality check (my right hand had 0 fingers o.o) but then I just dreamt on and did nothing with this lucidity, and that after trying for so long.

Awww! Don't worry, you'll get to play around soon! You're already getting lucid in your dreams, so it won't be long now

Do you do reality checks while awake? If I may suggest, try combining your RC with a reminder to stabilize. Like for me, I won't do the stabilizing IWL like I do with the reality check, but my mind carries on the thought: "If I was dreaming right now, then I would rub my hands together, or reach out and touch that tree," or something. It might help push your mind into that next level of lucidity

Overall, don't feel too bad The majority of my lucids tend to be a level 2 (awareness of the dream, with control, but still stuck in the plot). Even if it makes it harder to accomplish tasks, they're still very enjoyable

Yeah i get that quite alot, I'm a newbie and haven't yet had a dream where it's clear and logical. I call mine semi-lucids because when I wake up I'm not sure if i was lucid or not, although I was. But they're getting clearer and yours will too

well... it was not like my other lucid moment where i actually did a reality check to prove it to myself (getting so excited that i awoke). this time, while i knew i was dreaming, i didn't care enough to try to prove it to myself.
