Light Switch RC left me in the dark

Any advise on this problem or similar experiences?

Dream: I'm at the computer in my room. The room is dark. The monitor is dim. I can't be bothered fiddling with the settings, so I get up and flick a light switch . Nothing happens - the light doesn't go on. I realise I am in a dream. It is exhilarating (I'm still very new to this), and I am also getting panic because of the dark which I can't dispel as I repeatedly hit the switch. I fear the dream is going to crumble. I search for something to stabilise it, but everything is very dark, I can't fix on anything... I wake up. (At this point I feel like some immense electric force is realsing my body from its grip, it is very intense - is this what it's like coming out of sleep paralysis?)

Any ideas on how to stabilise the dream if such circumstances arise again? Perhaps I should try to create a new scene by imagining something else entirely..

      Hi
You could always try to look at your hands, I guess. Also, I too had some dreams where it was very dark, and altho i could see some things, I was a bit scared. But it worked for me to imagine sunrise, and then everything was bathed in light again. Next time, try to imagine your room how it is when lit up, or imagine sunrise ... Or you could, if those dreams happen often, install a device that turns on the light when you clap your hands, that should probably work, too xD

      Have fun :p

Analyzing your hands(very effective) and shouting(confident shout, not loud shout) at yourself that "stabilize", "be clearer", "brightness", always works for me when I start to fade or my sight isn't as clear as day.
When you get into the void, do the same shouting and try to accelerate to the speed of light. < That trick I learned from THIS TUTORIAL. Very, very helpful. Works for me.

What eper said. If that doesn't work, imagine yourself as a source of light. Don't close your eyes, just visualize yourself emenating light, being the source that bathes everything in the room.
      Usually works for me.

You can try spinning your dream body around to go to a new dream scene. Or walk to a wall and tell yourself when you touch it it'll be a door and then walk out . Just try to stay calm in those situations since even a little bit of doubt or fear can restrain you from controlling the dream.
