sounds to me like you already have your mind made up, and you dont need us XD.
im not an expert on this, but yeah i think you are just getting tense.
Im not going to recomend you to another method, but i will say try other ones wile continuing with this one, (Maybe switch methods every night?) so you can keep it new and expand your overall experience? Perhaps one method would help with another?
(im not sure if these are the related methods) I suggest Mastering WILD before you master VILD because i THINK WILD is just VILD without you visualizing . It will help you to learn to maintain your calm. In order to change your behaviors and reactions, you have to master them.
also, practice, practice, practice, you will eventually get it, try new things, if they dont work go back to older things, and just practice to get better at it
