      Hello!

I don't have a lot of experience, but from what I know, sleep paralysis can be many different things. This night I had a WILD (first one, YAY!), and after around 20 minutes of "meditation" I felt a very strange vibrating/blood rushing sensation. It was not unpleasant, but very strange and intense. I know some people can get hallucinations which I didn't.

What I do know is that sleep paralysis is completely harmless. If you do not know what it is, sleep paralysis can be frightening but as you've heard of the phenomena, there's no reason to worry.

If I was you, I'd just go for it. After all, it is just sleep.

Sleep paralysis is a natural body function. You experience it every night that you sleep. It feels strange to feel it consciously (as in WILD) because we normally are unconscious every night when it happens. But it's perfectly normal and harmless.
