      Smile New to DV

Hello, my name is Jim and I'm new to DV. I've been lurking for a bit and decided to become an active member. I started a dream journal about a week ago and have been successfully executing some of the DILD methods prescribed on this site. The quality of the information and user's posts on this site are outstanding.

I've had a few LD's over the years, but now I'm ready to see "how deep the rabbit hole goes".

I typically sleep from 11pm until 7am, awakening around 3-4am for a drink of water. Usually, I get my best recalls at this time and make entries to my journal before getting out of bed. I'm beginning to work on the WILD methods that I've read about here, as well as in Stephen Laberge's book 'Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming'. I look forward to expanding my LD capabilities and assisting others in doing the same.

      Thank you,
      Jim

      Hi Jim, welcome to Dreamviews.
It's good you've had some LDs after only a week (if I read correctly)! Your sleeping schedule is almost the same as mine, and I too get up at around 3:00. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Good luck with WILD.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I've had 3 DILDs since I began my journal about a week ago. I got too excited and woke myself up from 2 of them, so I'm working on staying calm and prolonging the LD state. I've had several vivid dreams and a few LDs in the past years, but don't recall them. I wish I had started journaling years ago. I'll post my DJ on my profile soon.

Waking up at the onset of lucidity should go away after you have a few more lucids.
