      Wink Hello there

As many others in this forum (i think :S) i'm new here and i'll try to introduce myself.
I'm 16 years old and i think that might be a disadvantage for me. I've heard something about that as my brain ain't fully adult i'm not able to think as reasonable as adults and therefore should have a harder time beind lucid in dreams. Other than than being 16 i'm a boy and i'm from Denmark. That's the facts.

I'm fairly new to lucid dreaming although i've always had a dream (not when sleeping ) about being able to control my dreams. About half a year ago i googled it and found out it might be possible for me to achive. I read that one should write ones dreams down but forgot one night and quickly gave up. This night though i became lucid in a dream and kinda' took the DC (dream charecters? (new to the shortings) as a hostage. I'll tell more about that later. I've been lucid in many dreams (as in newing it was a dream) but always found myself awaking. This night though turned out different.

I awoke at 6:30 in the morning because of my sister and brothers going to school and kindergarden. I went to sleep again and had about three different dreams. I don't recall which one where after the other but i'll tell what i remember (wrote it down)

I'll leave out some details for it not to become to long.

In one of the dreams there was a point where a person where walking towards me and i knew we where about to have a fight. When that happens i always tell me self this is a dream and that i want to wake up. I'm not much of a fighter
This time though i became in doubt if it was a dream because i couldn't wake up on command. I therefore took the chance and hit the guy straight in the face. Another guy was visible near and coming to my assistance as fast as possible although he didn't really come closer. The guy i hit was surprised that i hit him (like he where expecting me to wake up) and in the meantime i grabbed a garden chair (one of those you can clap together (don't know the english word )
I was about to hit him with it when i awoke.

I though a little about the dream before i chose that it had been interesting although uncomfortable that i couldn't wake up. I though it was interesting though 'cause it was very different. I tried to fell a sleep again (somehow knowing i'd succeed)

Next dream i was at some point in a car (might've been a part of the other dream where i went out of a car before the guy i hit came)
In the car (that was with straight quadratic floor in the back and lot's of space?) some cars at some point fell onto the floor. The thought that this might be a dream occurred (don't know how) to me and i decided i'd check. I did that by moving my eyes and by doing that i cold feel they where closed although i could see perfectly well. I could also feel i where laying down just before returning to the dream. I then told the guys in the back of the car (about 3-4 DC all boys) that i was dreaming and they where a part of it. I told them to collect the cards or i'd wake up. That's all i said. All but one did it instantly. The last guy hesitated and i became in doubt if i'd be able to convince him. I said it one more time directly to him and he looked like he was just about to do it. That gave me coincidence so i said it again and he took the last cards.

The last dream i recall (which i wrote down) i find irrelevant as i had no real control and didn't became aware that i where dreaming. I just remember waking up and thinking it was the perfect shortmovie and therefore wrote it down.

That's all from me to start with. It became a little long but i think i said what i wanted. Hope i'll be able to get some guidance and i sure will check out all those shorts like DC and WILD's 'n' so on.

      Hello and Welcome to Dreamviews.
It sounds like you're off to a pretty good start. Be consistent with your dream journal to achieve the best results.
As to your age being an issue, that is just not the case. There are plenty of 16 or younger forum members that have no problems lucid dreaming. What's really important is your desire/willingness to learn and not give up.
If you havn't already, you should take a look at the tutorial sections.

There is--though I do not know how there is or why there is--a sense of infinite peace and protection in the glittering hosts of heaven. There it must be, I think, in the vast and eternal laws of matter, and not in the daily cares and sins and troubles of men, that whatever is more than animal within us must find its solace and its hope. I hope, or I could not live.

      Hi, welcome to DV!

I think you'll find our tutorial section very helpful!

I think that it will be fine that you're sixteen. There are many people on this forum that have regular lucid dreams that are much younger than you!

Also, a really great book to check out is Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge.

Good luck, and I look forward to seeing you around the forums!!

Welcome to dreamviews! I'm newtz and age isn't a barrier AT ALL. In fact babies have 80% of their sleep being REM i.e. dream sleep. They also have frequent lucid dreams. The amount of REM actually decreases as you get older. I hope you enjoy DV, I know I have and i hope I'll see you around
