      How'd that happen?

So, a couple of nights ago, I tried telling myself 'I'm dreaming' over and over again before I went to sleep. Eventually I drifted off, and when I found myself in a dream, I was sitting in my bedroom, repeatedly telling myself 'I'm dreaming, this is a dream'.

And yet, despite this, I did nothing. I stayed where I was, and continued to tell myself the same phrase over and over. I didn't even move from that spot, I just sat perfectly still.

Why would I stay motionless? I've only had a couple of brief lucids so far, but whenever I have I've gone off to try and do things (which I've now realised a mistake - the dreams always faded quickly).

Also, would this count as a lucid? I'm not sure if I actually realised I was dreaming.

I have the same problem that when I become lucid and want to do something, the dream fades away. This is mostly due to over-excitement. But you just can get over this when you get somehow used to this feeling of lucidness. This takes time. So next time you get lucid just make something: look around you, explore the sourrondings. It doesn't have to be something great or exceptional. Like I've already said, familiarize with the feelings you get and than the lucid will last longer.

Also, would this count as a lucid? I'm not sure if I actually realised I was dreaming.
Hmmm when you wasn't aware of dreaming, it isn't a lucid, it's my opinion.
What I want to do while being lucid:
fly [ ] walk through a wall [ ] beating up a group of ninjas [ ] breath ounder water [ ] Talk with "Emil", a character of my novel I've been writing [ ]

I kinda guessed it wasn't, would have been nice to have added another to the count haha I really can't understand how I didn't make anything of it though, I've been dying to try out some of the things I've read but haven't had a lucid for about 3 months now
