Cool Starting up lucid dreaming once more.

Not quite sure if this is where this post belongs, but I'll leave it here anyways.

I used to be a regular member on DV last year, around November/December, and I had my first lucid a few days after joining the site. It was awesome, and I'd have one at least every 2 weeks. I got up to around 7 or so. I wrote in my DJ but lost motivation because files keep getting deleted from My Documents, and all my dreams had been erased. I had just stopped coming on to DV since I somewhat lost interest in lucid dreaming. I'm a little iffy about starting again, because my dream recall has become shit and I'm afraid my files will disappear again. I haven't had a lucid dream since way before the summer, and I'm wondering how to start up again.

In the morning I feel like I only have bits and pieces of a dream, so I'm not quite sure how to write it. I tried listening to one of the Audio Files and it's this girl telling you you're dreaming, and to do a reality check. I've been listening to it daily for a few days, and during sleep too and nothing so far. I still have dreams every night though, I know I do, I just don't remember as much as I used to.

      Any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome back! Just hand write a dream journal, that way, it wouldn't get randomly deleted, and you could put it next to your bed to write down any dreams if you wake up in the middle of the night. Also, keeping a day journal has helped many in their dream recall.

My mom is a creeper. I know she would read it if she randomly found it, and my dreams aren't exactly always PG. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Also, do you mean a journal of things that happen during the day? Like a diary?

Haha, well you could hide it somewhere she wouldn't ever look, and most dreams are exactly PG. You could call it a diary, but yes, a waking journal. When coupled with a dream journal, your mind would be used to the fact that it should remember what goes on during waking life and dreaming.
You could always edit some dream entries in a way only you'd understand.

Believe me when I say my mom is a creeper. What I used to do is as soon as I woke up was write a note in my iTouch of my dream and put it on the computer later. I prefer it that way because it is more organized. I'm going to try backing up my files somewhere other than My Documents because it's not safe anymore, aha. Thanks for the advice.

Haha, or you could just use the notes on the iPod touch as your dream journal, and no problem.

There is an app called Dream Journal - yes, that way - that does exactly what you want.
On my ipod touch, I use an app called AwesomeNote, in this app you can create a folder for a Dream Journal, and entry each dream on it's own note, plus you can set a password for this folder.

Other alternatives, are creating a Dream Journal here, at Dreamviews. Personally, I use the program that Banhurt created, it's an awesome program (it's probably the one you were using, right ?), but I don't have the problems you have of someone looking into your things, hehe.

      Welcome back.

I do use the program, and the program works fine but my files keep getting deleted. Thanks for the advice, I'll check out the programs.

It will be so weird getting back into the groove of doing reality checks.

For me, it's best to focus on your general awareness. Check Puffin's DILD guide.
I use the RCs to confirm if I am dreaming or not, but awareness is what will make you say: "Oh... I'm without my shoes walking in a metro station. I'm probably dreaming", it's hard to randomly do a RC in a dream, so awareness is your best bet.
