i get closer and closer everyday, its getting frustrating.

a few days ago i dreamed i was using a computer and i did the time RC and it worked but nothing happened. Now last night i had a dream that i was on a busy street and i was questioning whether i was dreaming or not so i stood in the middle of the street and got ran over by a car and nothing happened, i then clearly said "im dreaming" and i sort of felt like i was half awake and half asleep when i said it, so was i about to go into lucidity or what? its getting frustrating.

I've also done RC's in dreams and didn't become lucid. I've also had dreams where I knew it was a dream, but I didn't really understand what that meant. I just continued the dream normally.

Make sure when you do RC that it's not just becoming a mindless habit. You should be aware of why are you doing it and asking yourself questions like "Am I dreaming?" Do you ever use the nose pinch RC? That one has worked for me %100 of the time so far (which is only twice...still %100 though )

One thing I can say is dont rely on only 1 RC. Also as soon as you know its a dream, relax and rub rours hands together, than do as you please.... Dont get frustrated, its worth the work!

It's not reality checks that make you lucid, although they help, but it's logic and awareness for me.

In one particularly derp moment in a dream, I rationalized why the reality check failed... In fact, I RC'ed a couple times and still didn't connect the dots. @_@ But I'd advise to be motivated, but not to the point where you'd get frustrated. Instead, look at what you've accomplished and take it when it comes. Keep up with your dream journal, I dunno about you, but even non-lucid dreams to me are still quite interesting. Though I will admit that a lot of times they seem mundane until I actually get down to writing them.

I'm still pretty novice myself though, so I'm just going by my experience.

I've gotta stand up and vouche for what jody and the gang are saying. After four months of thinking I was broken or something, I had my first lucid dream last night.

yes I am the same way, at first I thought well maybe I had "too much fun" about a year ago until I started gettin lucid. Just stick with it. If your getting frustrated just take a break from it.

Also remember that learning is a process. Even if you haven't yet reached the ultimate goal, you are still making progress. There is no failure. When you learning to walk or ride a bicycle, falling is part of the process. It's how you learn to adjust your weight and find your balance.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

It sounds like you are very close. The fact that you are becoming lucid, at all, is huge. Now, you just need to do something with that lucidity. Formulate a simple plan that you can immediately and automatically do next time you become lucid. That should help you feel a bit more empowered.
