      Typical

Hello from Prlibo. I have been on this site for a little over a year, and i still cannot lucid dream. I have tried a variety of techniques that have typically failed. My problem i think is that i do not use a form of reality check, i just go with the dream. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hold on, are you saying that you've never had success, or just typically are unsuccessful? And that you don't use reality checks during the day, or that you don't use them in your dream?

If you've had some success with some techniques but not others, I would suggest trying to improve your success rate at the one(s) which came easier to you.

Also, I think regardless of the ultimate technique(s) you choose, that some form of reality checking is crucial. Maybe a WILD expert would disagree, but, from what I can tell, one of the biggest factors in becoming lucid is developing/attaining an awareness for the distinction between waking life and dream life.

Yeah, I feel like RCing (but really the mindset that goes with it) has been an integral part of my beginning to LD. I would definitely suggest RCing more regularly and adopting an overall more skeptical attitude. If LDing is something you're serious about, and you haven't had natural success at, then you'll probably have to work somewhat to attain it. It can be a pain, but I feel it's totally worth it.

Don't just RC randomly, be more observent of your surroundings. When ever you see the slightest strange thing in real life think about it and do an RC. Now when you are dreaming you will be more observant, then you will spot something wierd and RC.
