Of course!
So, at first remembering your dreams will probably be very very difficult. Don't get discouraged. For me, when I first started keeping a DJ, my entries would be things like, "I felt like there was something I had to get, I have no idea if I got it," or "There was an image of a green apple on a silver platter that may or may not have red cushions under it." Even if you write down a sentence about how you feel. Over time this will increase your dream recall.
What happens, is our brains have almost like... built in dream-erasers. As soon as you move from your sleeping position in bed, most people will forget their dreams. Try to stay still when you wake up and just focus on where you were, what you saw, what you did, what was happening, what you felt, etc. Try to absorb it and put it into words.
Benefits:
Increased dream recall! Yay! I normally suggest that you don't attempt lucid dream induction techniques until you've got a solid week or two of dream journaling under your belt. Up to you though.
Dream signs! Yay! Dream signs are things that appear in your dreams often. Say you always see the color red, or you always see lakes. You can make a list of the things that appear in your dreams most often and perform reality checks when they appear in waking life! The goal is that if you do this enough, you will do one while dreaming, thus waking you up inside of your dream

(let me know if you need info on reality checks)
