      Help with LD?

I have been a good/ vivid dreamer since childhood, and got into the topic of lucid dreaming when a friend told me about it awhile ago. i just started keeping my DJ and have remembered atleast one dream everynight this week, including a dream within a dream. i have attempted MILD, but dont seem to be getting any results. ive also tried to do some reality checks before bed and throughout the day. any tips? im really anxious for my first lucid.

      Helo and welcome to DV!

So, a few things. First off, how good is your recall? How long have you been keeping a DJ for? I normally tell people that they shouldn't even attempt lucid dreaming until they've been able to recall vivid dreams for 2+ weeks.

Another thing - stress can greatly affect lucid dreaming. If you're anxious about having a lucid dream, or stressed about lucid dreaming - stop. This can completely halt everything. If you are anxious about lucid dreaming, I would say - stop for a week or so. It's actually surprising how many people do this and end up lucid dreaming!

Also, reality checks before bed are good - but it's most effective if you go through your dream journal and find your dream signs, and do reality checks actively when they appear throughout the day.

I hope some of this helped! Please feel free to let me know if you ever have any questions

thanks! i have only been keeping my DJ for about a week so i have a bit to go. my recall is pretty good. when i wake up i can only remember one thing, but while i am talking(i record the dreams before i write them) tons of bits rush back to me. i can get pretty detailed dreams. ill post some later on.

I've also had my DJ for a week now. I'm trying to get into the habit of actually doing RC's throughout the day so that they may seep into my dream thus, inducing lucidity. I am also excited jack9. Here's my problem though, I try to allow my body to go to sleep, it happens; when I have LD in mind, I'll stay in bed awake for the rest of the night. It's so frustrating to try to gain lucidity. BTW, my dreams are vivid and I have excellent dream recall when I wake up. (well I guess I can't remember how I got there...)
