      Hello All, Newbie here!

So I first discovered LD browsing through an off-topic forum on a website, and what the user said intrigued me. He mentioned that he was having a nightmare, but halfway through he realized it was just a dream and "sunk" into himself and everything became realistic.

That very day I discovered Stephen LaBerge and researched everything I could about him, short of checking out his books at my local library. I have learned about WILDs and DILDs and been going at DILDs on/off for the past 3months, and WILDs just recently (this week to be exact). I have had a total of 3 lucid dreams, all DILDs.

What disappoints me is that all my DILDs seem accidental. All scenarios go as follows:

Dream 1: I went home late from work, and went directly to bed. In my dream my shirt was blue and I thought to myself "I went to bed with a red shirt. I must be lucid dreaming" And at that point I DID feel myself sink into my mind, it's a very enlightening and exciting experience. I then recalled that I should not be too excited and calmed myself down. My first LD lasted 10 minutes and all I did was test out all RC's in the dream. e.g I flipped a switch to find the room I was in change, tried looking at myself in a mirror only to find nobody there, and rubbed my hands and spun in a circle to stabilize the dream when I could feel the dream "slipping" away. I woke up eventually too excited to go back to bed. Sadly, all I did in the dream was enjoy it and go around telling people that I was LD.

Dream2: I was in a bar, but I looked to my right and saw a locker room full of girls from my school. It was a half-bar half locker room thing and I was like... what? I must be dreaming. At that point, I became lucid and the dream lasted a mere minute because I tried having astral sex and woke up 15 seconds in. (shame on me )

Dream3: I was running through an obstacle course, a rather deadly one. I set off an alarm in which robot dogs started attacking me so I had to kill them with my superpower. Which resembled spidermans web blast, but instead of webs it shot lasers. And in order to recharge the laser I had to put two fingers on the wrist of my arm. During one of the recharging moments the dog bit my hand and a red ball came out. I thought "What the hell? You can't bleed red balls. I must be dreaming again" And I became lucid. This is my most disappointing LD for I tried to control it, but nothing was working. I turned corners imagining that I would be on the moon, and I tried jumping to fly, but nothing was working. And as the dream was slipping away, I even rubbed my hands and spun which only saved me for mere seconds before I completely woke up in slight disappointment.

It seems I have been getting lucky, for I have never RC'd in a dream and became lucid. I have dreamed of RC, but everytime I do a RC in a dream, it doesn't register as a dream and I wake up frustrated hours later. Are there any tips the experts out there can give me? I would very much appreciate it, I have read most of the tutorials on the site, and will be reading the rest of them shortly. I appreciate any help I can get, and will stay an active user.

P.S I think I have insomnia (not really, it's just hard for me to sleep.) It takes me like 45 minutes to sleep on average.

TL;DR I'm new. I've had 3 LD which I think are all accidental. All 3 were DILDs and I want to WILD atleast once. Also have trouble sleeping. Would appreciate tips.
