      Paralysis stage

      Jeey....last night i had a LD again.
i tried the DILD method and it worked.
as soon as my body went in the paralysis stage in felt myself slipping into a dream. i was fully consious at that moment.
I also remember i had more of these kind of dreams when i was younger but i was always a little afraid of paralysis because i always thought i wouldnt wake up anymore....
once i had a LD when in paralysis stage when i was younger i didnt want to be paralyzed when i was dreaming so i woke myself up.
then after 5 seconds i was paralysis stage again and had another LD and woke myself up again and i just kept doing this until i slept normaly.
but now i regret it because i did again last night
do i just have to go with the flow in my LD, because i honestly dont know how to deal with it.

i hope to solve this problem so that i can just start exploring my dreams instead of being concerned about a paralized body.

      Hi GoldVision!
I think it is very normal to initially be afraid of sleep papralysis. I too remember having that as a kid and it scared the heck out of me. But as you will learn that nothing bad can physically come out of SP and no harm can be done, I think you will get more comfortable with being in this stage, thus allowing you to concentrate on your lucid dreams.
But I have to ask what exactly woke you up? The reason I ask is because the way your post is worded it almost seems as if you get past the sleep paralysis stage. So it might be something all together differant.

well actually nothing made me wake up...
i just felt myself being paralized again....i could have gone exploring the dream but i decided to force myself to wake up...because i didnt feel very confortable when paralised but i know thanks to u that being in that stage is good and that there is nothing to worry about.
i still regret the fact now that i woke myself up....next time i wont

Ugghh! I know how that feels, b/c I have to use that every night, or I get insomnia. Either I enter a dream, or I end up in one of my sci-fis (which was not a choice until I was almost 16)

If you are talking in terms of WILD, then yes. In order to enter one, you have to go through SP!

I think that the best thing to do is move around a bit in your LD and get more securely in your dream body. That way you should stop feeling your body back in bed. Just go with the LD for a bit and you should be fine. I can imagine that it would be annoying, but if you try doing things like rubbing something with alot of texture in the LD and jumping around a bit, you should lose that sensation of your body. I hope that's what you were looking for. I've never dealt with sleep paralysis, so I can't speak from experience. But I hope that works, and I think it will.

Well, I'm sorry that you haven't had a WILD yet, but be patient & it'll all work out!

      No problemo, GoldVision.
Nesgirl, I've had a WILD, but I never really experience sleep paralysis. See, I woke up from a dream and shifted around a bit then went to fall back asleep. I managed to fall back asleep so fast that I never consciously experienced any SP. I do want to experience SP sometime, though. I probably will try sometime in an afternoon nap. It would be interesting.

Then try making yourself hyper b4 going to bed, or try to get alot of exercise!

Thanks, I'll be sure to try that. I've got an exercize bike that I mainly use in the summer. I suppose I could put some time aside before bed to use it, though.

EDIT: Sugar and comedies noted as well, but I dunno if I can do the sugar thing.

Really funny comedies should work, too! Also, sugar can help a little if you go to bed right after eating it!

I have had several WILDS and never went through sleep paralysis. So they don't always go hand in hand.
I find SP to be more evident opon waking up from a longer duration of sleep and dreaming.

I never realize if I go through sleep paralysis or not when attempting a WILD, since the whole time I try to remain still anyways (With the exception of one small moment during the transition where I started rapidly shaking, but yeah, lol.)

That is part of SP. Shaking is part of it! I think I am about to go into it, so I'd better hurry to bed.
