Hi there! Welcome to DreamViews!
so i was wondering if whilst your mind is awake but you're body is asleep or in SP you still heal you're body and get well rest just as if it were normal sleep?
Yes, definitely. You get the same amount of rest lucid dreaming as you would in a normal sleep. However, SP isn't full sleep - it's a transition stage, so you wouldn't get fully rested. But during the actual dream, you do.
the other question is around how long does it take on average to induce a dream?
This is different for everyone and depends upon which method you use. For a WILD, you probably won't get it to work at all for your first you tries. I've spent 2 hours trying and never even completed the WILD, but if you practice enough you'll get better and eventually you'll be able to WILD in under 20 minutes.
i have had two experiences with this one this morning after i woke up which was horrible because i was barely aware but thankfully i kept awakening from dreams back into this state oddly enough yelling at myself to stop being so distracted
I've had this too. For me, it's usually because of an alarm clock trying to wake me up when I'm still half-asleep. It's a miserable feeling, but usually I can avoid it by getting enough sleep. It's really important to get 8+ hours for both this and for remembering your dreams.
the other was where i was entirely aware and was in this state for about 4 hours and felt all the sensations you could think of.... and only toward the end did i finally experience dream scenario's which were incredible along with flashing lights faces demonic though o.O no more sugar for me xD
These were probably hypnagogic hallucinations. It shouldn't last for 4 hours, but it's basically what you described - seeing dream imagery and sounds but not yet being in a full dream. The beginning was probably SP, if you felt vibrations or heard noises or anything of that sort.
also what can i do in the mornings to stay fully aware like i did before going to bed as well as when is the best to do the WILD technique?
You shouldn't try to WILD before bed; it usually only works if you've slept for a few hours beforehand. You have to test out a few different times to find out what's best for you, but it's probably going to be 4-6 hours after you fall asleep for the first time.
A good way to stay aware is by counting - 1, 2, 3, ... . If you find that you have trouble keeping track, try counting to 10 and then back down again.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to lucid dreaming and good luck in your WILD attempts!
