Exclamation What could this possibly be?!?....

Okay well I'm 17 years old and have had very very vivid dreams for a few years now. I am also a Migraine sufferer. But I have had some really weird experiences while dreaming. I can remember all of my 5 senses in them. Hard to explain, but I can remember feeling, tasting, and smelling while for a couple years now whenever I dream. A lot of times I dream while not fully asleep.

Normally, I can remember almost all of my dreams. Not in all detail but I can remember most of what happened. But the other night while I was almost alseep(I was here alone at that time) it was like someone was standing right at my ear and said "Hello". I remember it didn't sound like it was yelled but it was enough for me to wake up and be frightened because I had no idea how that could have happened.

But I have also heard when I'm actually asleep some loud banging noises that woke me up and I looked around once I noticed what was going on and found nothing that made sense for something making a loud banging sound. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything like these things I've mentioned?

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with what I'm experiencing, but I get a lot of my traits from my dad. He suffered from Migraines and has always had really vivid dreams.I don't know if being a migraine sufferer has anything thing to do with this or not though.

There maybe a relationship with the vivid dreams linked to your migraines. To answer I have heard the loud sounds in my sleep but it usually happens shortly after falling asleep. I may be similar to having the "falling dream" that wakes you up.

Perhaps as a result of our primitive mind subconsciously warning us that we are falling asleep at a time when we are anxious. Think of a time when as cave men we were tasked to keep watch for danger. When falling asleep we would be jolted awake by the falling dream

      Welcome to Dreamviews, SouthernBelle19!

The noises you're describing might be sleep paralysis. Do you have them after not moving your body for a while? It's common to experience loud noises, sinking/rising feelings, and other hallucinations if you lay still in bed for a while but keep your conscious mind aware.

Could be attributed to a side effect from medication and pain killers. I know it's different medication, but I remember when I accidentally took an extra dose of penicillin I was hearing all sorts of things while half asleep.

It sounds like auditory hallucinations brought on by hypnagogia, a state that people experience before falling asleep.
