      W.I.L.D. help!

So this morning i had nothing going on so i decided to try WILD method of lucid dreaming. I got 8 or so hours of sleep proior, then read some lucid dreaming stuff to get me in the right place of thinking. I then layed down and just told myself to relax deeper, and deeper, etc. Then i started counting my breaths and noticed i couldn't move (sleep paralysis?) I cleared my mind so I wasnt expecting anything and just sort of stayed in that position for a while.. Then suddenly i saw this flashing light, my heart started racing and i repeated to myself "stay calm" countless times. the flashing went away and nothing happend. I waited a little while longer and this time i saw a spiral on the right side of my vision and my eyes started twitching and eventualy i just woke up out of nowhere.. I have yet to have a lucid dream if that has anything to do with it, but i have been trying MILD for a good 2 weeks and nothing really happend.. Any help would greatly appreciated, Thanksss!

You hit sleep paralysis but it sounds like you got to excited and woke up. Just keep trying and maintain a calm composer. You were as close to lucid dreaming as it gets.

LucidNoob, be careful about false awakenings. They are very common after attempting to wild. So any time you have a failed attempt, RC to be sure you are really awake. Make it a habit to RC every time you wake up, at anytime, and this will become second nature.
