New, but with a kind of experience to it all.

i'm unsure where to start. Alot of the details in my mind are considered deep thoughts by the people i try to explain to about such topics as the ability to dream, then Lucid dream.

Its as if the concept of doing something that isn't widely explained, but commonly experienced but just referred to as dreaming isn't anything new.

Or they sometimes just look at me and say "why would you want to".

When I was of a young age I suffered night terrors, oddly enough it reminds me of Lucid dreams, for even when its not real it feels real.

I also have experience in the whole ghost scene with the reference to "the gift".

But I see that Without dreaming, so you can guess when I say wake at 4 am in the morning and its dark, i have more set fears than most people, because theres more than just the dark there to me.

But really been in the mindframe to dream I have been trying to ignore this feeling of fear and accept that its just occurance that will always be there with me.

Anyway that aside I haven't had anything lucid in my adult age yet, I watched inception and that stirred a memory and i became interested in trying again, i know the concept of dreaming in someone elses dream isn't real but i'm interested in dreaming and waking in my own dream which is possible with enough practise.

i've been trying for 5 nights, keeping a dream journal which i've never done before, the first night was abit fragmented but the 3rd night i had a long dream recall.

the other 2 nights, i couldn't remember nothing.

i've also been doing reality checks, like looking at my hands, reading words taking aware of my surroundings, asking myself in my head if i'm awake, holding my nose to see if i can breathe through it, also tried the trying to push my finger through my palm.

think it was on the third night i was drifting off, waking up doing reality checks, then i drifted off held my nose and was breathing through it, but then i was abit excited with the whole experience, and hence woke up. (tale of many on the site i see)

not a very good start I know, but i'll keep up with it all, in the hopes of one day going Lucid.

Well thats my introduction, guess i'll keep reading the site and learning more.

Welcome to DreamViews! I also have had many firends ask me why I would want to lucid dream? That should be an automatic "face slap question" in my opinion, j/k. That is a perfectly fine start. Just keep working and you will be reeling off lucids in no time. Make sure when you are performing your reality checks, that you aren't just "going through the motions." Take a moment to look around at your environment and picture/imagine that it is a dream right now. Then perform your reality check and test it. Good luck to you and again, welcome!
