The word "Persona" means a lot to me. For one, it's the title of my favorite video game ever (Persona 3, where my avatar comes from). But it goes beyond that. I find myself adapting a persona on a fairly regular basis. Socializing. On other websites. Sometimes in front of friends and family. I might even be wearing one right now. I can't say for sure, as I'm often unsure who the real me is. I only really recently learned how to behave in social situations, and I'm still not very good at it.

I crave the escape that I've heard Lucid Dreaming can bring. And if Lucid Dreaming could give me the power to create and destroy within my own mind, I think it could not only be fun, but help me understand myself too. That is, assuming my impression of Lucid Dreaming is even remotely accurate. Though honestly, I'm still a little skeptical that any of this is even possible. It sounds so amazing.

I enter college this fall. I took a year off to unwind and avoid all the stress of schooling, but it's more than half over. I want to try and learn how to do this kind of thing before I return to school, if you reckon that's possible. So tell me forum, is learning the art of Lucid Dreaming the kind of quest I should embark on?

Wow, your first two paragraphs really made my ears prick up! I have been in the Mind business for over a decade, and what you are doing is in fact creating masks. This can be detrimental to you. As to Lucid Dreaming, I can tell you quite a bit. Lucid Dreaming is firstly a very powerful tool, and it is accessible by anyone who puts a little effort into it - you say you have a little time to kill, well you couldn't do it in a better way! Lucid Dreaming can do so much for you it boggles the mind. If you want to know the how, step by step, then on your address bar, type in cosmicdreamer.co and enter. I think you'll find that lucid dreaming is an excellent way to refine your understanding of yourself. I was in a similar situation my first year of college (what with the creation of various "masks"), and interacting with dream characters made it easier to take all of them off long enough to get a good look at the "me" underneath. I found that characters closely related to each of the individual "masks" took on long-term, recurring roles in my dreams. At one point, I destroyed all of them and was left with nothing substantial to examine in my dream world except myself. I'm not sure that kind of rampant destruction is advisable... But anyway, I think you'll learn as much about yourself as you're willing to admit, and even if you learn very little, you'll enjoy the thrills of flight, magic, and creativity lucid dreams can provide.

It's hard to say how long it'll take you to start. You might have a bunch of lucid dreams tonight, or it might take a little practice. If you haven't started already, I recommend keeping a dream journal every morning and paying careful attention to the things which could have made you realize you were dreaming (e.g. floating pigs, scrambled letters on a street sign, etc). Getting to know the flow of your dreams is a fun part of learning more about yourself, too.

I probably should've also mentioned that Dreamviews has a number of excellent tutorials on lucid dream induction methods and ways to improve dream recall. Trying a variety of techniques and experimenting to figure out what works best for you is a great starting point.

I appreciate the generosity. Looks like it'll take a lot of patience and reading to learn this stuff. Ah well, got nothing better to do. (At least not until I find a job. Or a girl. Or both, preferably.) I do currently have a dream journal, but I don't always log every dream I have. Just most of them. I'll check back in when I'm ready to get deep into this.

Whats up and welcome to DreamViews! I am actually currently playing Persona 3 for the first time as we speak. I'm on July, 9th at the moment and am in love with this game

. LDing is definitely possible and it is truly amazing. With that said, it does take some practice (especially if you plan on LDing frequently). I'd imagine you could use LDing to do just about anything you wish. Finding out more about yourself may be one of the easier things to use it for! I'm just going to come out and ask it. Are we allowed to talk about having "encounters" in our dreams? If not talk about, at least express an interest in doing so? I read what the rules say about this being a sort of site for "general audiences", but I assume we're not supposed to pretend none of us ever thought about using lucid dreams for that purpose, even though most of us have? (And many of you probably already have done?) ; )

Also, I have all of ZERO money right now. Is it possible to learn how to dream lucidly from you guys even without cash? Because I see there's this and that for sale on here, and I'm broke. =(

. You are fine. Oh, and I journal about my "encounters" all the time! The site is for the general audience indeed, but a certain amount of maturity is expected from the members when reading another's experiences. Like you said, everyone has sexually themed dreams at some point. I have used many a lucid dream to "get down to business"

College is a great time to learn to lucid dream. I started in college, you have long weekends to sleep in and lucid dream. I've had some crazy drunk lucid dreams in college.
