Remebering a lucid dream later on in the day?

I was just hanging out in my living room, and all of a sudden I just remember having a lucid dream. I was showing my friends I was dreaming by changing my outfits color. It was so random. I didn't remember when I woke up, but later that day I remembered having it. The mind works very strangely sometimes.

Yeah, I've done that too. Is it common or is it just, like, yeah.

I sometimes forget my LDs, but I can sense whether I was lucid or not. If I want to, I just go into hypnosis and recover the memories. Let me guess, in your living room, you were watching TV or just kind of zoning out? That would make sense, because when you watch TV and when you zone out, you're in hypnosis. Sometimes even when you don't have the intent to recover the memories, they'll show themselves to you when you're in that mindset.

I often remember (normal) dreams throughout the day (when keeping a dream journal, though) and go back and write them down. This usually happens when something or someone "triggers" a memory. For example, you may have been very sad in your dream, and then you became very sad in real life, then you remember your dream . It also works with the senses, for example, if you see or smell something that you saw or smelled in your dream, that could help trigger a memory.

I second that! Only that usually happens for me several DAYs after the fact. Which is the only thing I have to prove (to myself) that my brain isn't continually erasing my mind of information -- it's just storing it away for later.

As for hypnosis by "zoning out" . . . I'm not very fond of the idea of being in mental no-man's land, which is where I am on the rare occasion that I passively watch the television (no cable, you see).

But then, I do transcendental meditation, so . . . I suppose it balances out in the end.
It is important that we do not judge these few unbiased moments of our lives, but take them as they are. There is no nightmare for the lucid dreamer, nor no shadows on the mind.
