      I need help

I have been trying to lucid dream for a while, and last night I almost did it.

I figured that I was dreaming when I was at the superbowl and things didnt seem right. First the crowd was about the same size as a high school game. Second, I was able to buy food and a drink for a pack of gum at a concession stand.

So when I figured it out that I was lucid dreaming I started messing around with my ability to control things. First I looked at the football field, looked away and thought when I looked back it would be a baseball field. It worked.

After that it seemed like my brain was trying to convince itself that I wasn't dreaming or something. I was going to run out on the field but I had second thoughts because I was thinking "what if I am not dreaming? then I would get in some trouble" so I did the things that I heard you could use to test if you are dreaming or not. I tried to push my hand through my other hand and it didnt work. (Why didnt it work?) Then I looked at the clock on my phone, the time was 6:19. I looked away and looked back, and the time was still 6:19. (again, why?) After that I think my brain had convinced itself that I wasnt dreaming, and I lost lucidity.

Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

1 Some reality checks don't work for everyone, so just try different ones.
2 When you were doing the reality checks were you really thinking " If this is a dream then my finger would go through my hand" and really concentrating on it? Or where you doing it passively?
3 If you were doing the second one, then you were doing nothing wrong

Well then just try a different reality check. Plugging my nose and trying to breath works really good for me.

Yeah, it is always good to try several RCs. Also, try each RC multiple times if they fail. I, personally, like the nose pinch RC the best (pinch off the air passage to your nose and attempt to breathe through it still. In a dream...you can). The nose pinch still has never failed for me. For the phone RC, look away and look back several times rather than just once. You can also try holding your hands out in front of you and look at your fingers (a lot of times in dreams your fingers are all crazy looking). Good luck to you!
