      Skırdreymi - Lucid Dreaming

Well, there are many things possible in life and many things that few people are able to do. Some can tell the future, some can talk to the deceased and some can mix with peoples brains.

Anyway, when I first, I don't know when, heard or read about lucid-dreaming I thought that this would be possible for anyone, you didn't need to have any naturally given powers. And I read and read about lucid-dreaming, how to get lucid and the benefits and pleasure about it and I didn't think about anything else, for a period of time, then lucid-dreaming and telling my friends and others about it.

I wanted to learn more, and maybe talking about it with someone else that would possibly know anything about it. So I called an institution here in Iceland, an institution about soul-research and I, for some reason, got the president of the institution on the other line and for 5 minutes we talked about lucid-dreaming and for 55 minutes we talked about life beyond this life and everything there between. Didn't get much information there.

Anywhoo, I dream alot, like everybody else, and have had some dreams that I remember today, wich happened many years ago. In one dream, I flew. I didn't quite control it, but it was fun. I woke up when I hit the ocean.

I dream alot "acid" and I've been thinking of what could be my dream sign. Don't know why, but sex have happened often in dreams of mine. Maybe that could be it, but I don't think it is a good dream sign.

I don't think I have had a lucid-dreaming, maybe, but I don't think so. But I want, really, really much so.

So I started thinking. If the avarage person has 1.460 dreams a year and the avarage person spends, if he/she sleeps for about 6-8 hours a night, 24 years sleeping in their entire life I thought to myself that I can't waste all that time for nothing.

You can't be awake forever, you have to sleep. You have to sleep those 24 years of your life, so why not do something with it.

So, here I am. I plan the summer of practising in lucid-dreaming and next winter, I hope, I can escape the everyday life and fly up to the sky or what-ever in my dreams. And so you people are my guides through all this and I hope I will share my experience with you.

      Have a nice night

P.S. Yes, one thing. I dream more if I wake up, let's say two hours before my alarm-clock goes off, and I remember those dreams more clearer.

      Why?

Does it happen to any of you?

Well, with the sleep cycles we all go through every night, REM is the final stage and you are the closest to consciousness during that time. You also tend to wake up naturally after that stage. As the night goes on and a person sleeps longer, the time that a person is in REM gradually becomes longer and non-REM sleep is decreased. So, in the morning (or closer to morning, I should say), you are more likely to wake up right after dreaming so they are still fresh in your mind.
