      Lucid dreaming or something else?

Hello Everyone! Could really use some help with this one. Nervous, because it's the first time I'm talking about this openly. Ok just a little background.
Throughout my life, randomly, I have had dreams and visions that have come true. I can also sense when something is off or not right with other people.

Over the years, from time to time I've been dreaming about a man I do not know, (I'll just call him Joe). I have never felt such a strong connection like this before. Kinda like finding the other half of yourself that you lost a long time ago. Hard too explain.

About a month ago I turned in for the night but before I went too sleep, I asked Joe to invite into his world of dreams. Later I dreamed of being in the past walking up to what looked like an old stately mansion. I was also wearing old fashioned clothes. I went inside the house and Joe was at the top staircase/second floor balchony landing waiting for me. I went up the staircase and he pushed a door open for me leading into a room telling me to remember the details. I agreed and took in everything I could. When I turned around, I noticed Joe was wearing a blue looking sort of uniform with gold buttons. I immediately ran, and put my arms around him. I told him I wanted to share everything and please don't let me go. I whispered in his ear telling him I was real and what my first name was. Well, we started to become intimate, but I got scared and backed him off a little. The next thing I remember is leaving the house walking on a dirt road. I turned to look back and saw Joe watching me from the upstairs window. When I turned again everything went black and the dream ended.

My dreams of Joe before this one are in modern times. He has been on my mind quite a bit lately, but I don't let it get in the way of my life. I have my own ideas of this could be but some feedback from people would be great. Maybe someone out there has had a similar experience they could tell me about? Thanks everyone for reading and helping.

Did you know you were dreaming while you were in the dream? I don't think It was a lucid dream but it might be some kind of spiritual experience. I don't really have anything to relate this too...

Hi Refrain. I didn't know I was dreaming, but felt wide awake about everything. As if it were really there.

Well lucid dreaming is knowing your dreaming while you were dreaming, so it wasn't a lucid dream.. I have had dreams where everything felt super real. And when I wake I can't believe it wasnt real.

I guess your right Refrain. I have gone through dreams that are very real with my past experiences; having a tough time with this one.

      Welcome to DV!

Joe sounds like a dream guide (DG).
His main reference for himself may be in that time period or perhaps that was simply the best place to teach you or get you to remember which it seems to have done nicely. DGs usually try to teach you something and telling you to remember is very common.
If you read around in DV you'll see it is not that uncommon and some people have had experiences a lot like yours. I'd keep detailed records on everything, not only does this help you remember it also helps you to recall such events later.

Hi Caden Thanks for the welcome! I will look up info on DG. So people find themselves in love with their guides? I had the idea that maybe I was with Joe in a passed life and he somehow found me through dreams in this one. The present day dreams make me feel he is living a different life out there now separated from me. Hard to explain a feeling like that. I see all sorts of things out there like OBE's, Astral Projecting, Dream Realms?
Easy to get lost out here. Thanks again!
