      New lucid dreamer

Hey guys, I've been viewing the forum for about a month and this is my first post, quick question... Last night I became lucid, I did my reality checks and everything was good. However when I was doing my reality checks I was laying down in my bed in my lucid dream, I was able to stand up but couldn't walk around. Every time in the past that I've become lucid moving around seems to be the hardest feat for me. Any advice?

      Thanks!

I've been through something similar. I'll give you a quick summary of what I would feel and how I try to overcome it.

I would usually WILD in the middle of the night or something, like after 3 hours of sleep, waking up then going back to sleep. I would then freeze (sleep paralysis)- I would not be able to move in my bed, I start hallucinating and everything. Finally I would be in a dream, but the dream is really distorted. I am still in my bed and I am usually sitting up or something. But I'm either frozen, or it is really tough to move, as if I am stuck and moving takes SO MUCH effort. Sometimes I managed to walk but I moved so slowly and I felt so constricted because it is was if I was "meant" to be frozen.

Sometimes this would cause me to go into a non-lucid where I could move, other times, I ended up "freeing" myself from the constricting movements and have a lucid dream. The things each result shared in common was that I eventually truly accepted the dream reality as reality. I truly stopped trying to feel myself lying down in my bed. That waking reality where I was in bed has me paralyzed. Maybe I was feeling this paralysis within the dream- feeling my waking life senses and my dream senses at the same time (one time, I was slowly getting out of bed struggling to move within my dream and would immediately be slingshot back into my bed if I got too far). I had to let go of those waking life senses and focus on the dream reality around me. I had to focus on my dream senses. I've been noticing a lot lately that dream stabilization is something we often forget to do or don't realize we should do. It has been an obstacle for me with WILDing after waking up after like 3 hours. But my successful WILDs were due to a disconnect on my waking reality senses.

I hope this helps you in some way
