      My First Lucid Dream

I'm new to the forum....in fact this will be my first post

I read about Lucid dreaming on Wikipedia site while finding something to kill the boredom at work. After reading about lucid dreaming I did a Google search and found this forum. I began to read about Lucid Dreaming and was intrigued. I wondered if I could teach myself to lucid dream

On 3/24/11 I bought a journal so I could start my very own Dream Journal.

I have been writing in it nightly after waking up from dreaming, recording what I could remember and the times of my dreams. I found that I remember about 3 dreams a night on average.

Well last night I was having a dream, but I don't remember what it was about. I woke up from the dream. I kept my eyes closed and tried to recall what I was dreaming about. It was strange, I knew I had a dream, but I couldn't remember anything about it. I was about to pick up my journal to log the time and enter no recollection....and then I remembered that I had to do my Reality Check first. I thought it was kind of dumb to do, since I knew I was awake, but I went ahead and grabbed my nose and tried to breath.

WTF??? I could breath thru my nose as I was pinching it shut. I then realized that this was a false Awakening.

I looked up and I was in an office, there was a small boy across the room, everything was a dull gray with dim lighting. I said to myself this was pretty boring for a lucid dream. I don't know how but I willed the dram to become something else, the small boy morphed into a pretty woman, and we were now outside on the beach during the summer. The sun was shining and it was warm, for some reason it felt like California.

The Woman walked over to me and began to tell me something that I knew was important. I don't remember her words, but it felt like she had the answers to the universe. I was going to talk to her and see where she led me. She placed my hands on her breasts, I couldn't see my hands, but I could feel her. I could tell she was a good person, someone I could trust. She said that things were going to get bad and that the key to survival was to touch her. I tried to look at my hands, but for some reason I could not see them.

Another woman approached us and was talking. She didn't seem friendly. I looked at the unfriendly woman who was speaking and walking towards me. I looked into her mouth and saw a small black square that was becoming larger as she approached me.

It felt like the dream was going to end. I said to myself that I should spin, but I was unable to move. I knew I was dreaming, but I had zero control. As I was trying to figure out how to control my dream environment, I looked into the woman's mouth again and the black square became larger and larger, then it began to spin. It engulfed me and I was now inside it by myself. Everything was black and I couldn't see anything.

I then woke up from my first Lucid dream, did my reality check, yep I was awake.

Not too exciting, but it is a milestone for me.....my first Lucid :-)

Welcome to DV! That reminded me of a German expressionist film in some ways

Congrats on the LD, you'll find control gets easier with experience. The paralysis thing that happened to you is not uncommon among beginners. It's good that you remembered to RC, false awakenings are great opportunities to becoming lucid.
