Thread: Hey

Hey,

I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a few years now, originally learning about it when I was exploring the concept of astral projection. While that never went anywhere, the concept of dreams being more than just a movie you watch while sleeping and subsequently forget just after exiting the movie theater has always fascinated me. And so it was 4 years ago now that I had my first lucid experience. I'd been working on keeping awareness throughout the day and performing reality checks for a few weeks, as well as keeping a dream journal(although I've always had issues with my recall) with no real success. My spirits were pretty low at that point and I'd started to question if all this stuff I'd read about was really true. Then one day after school I decided to take a short nap.

I'm standing in a large british colonial style house, in the midst of a very classy house party. I immediately notice how different it is from my regular dreams. Everything is very vivid and I feel incredibly serene in this environment. My little brother is standing next to me, talking about something.

One thing feels off though. I can feel my body up against the wall, lying in my bed. Instantly, I realize. I'm dreaming! I turn to my little brother and announce my discovery. He just smiles back. We walk down a flight of stairs to the first floor and I approach a window. I think to myself, what to do now that I'm lucid. I consider going through the window, but I can't go through a solid window!

Wait! I remember again. I'm dreaming, I can do whatever.

I look up through a skywindow and see the sky. It looks very off, and has like a dark purpleish tint to it. Instantly, I take off, flying upwards and passing through the window.

It's very hard to accurately describe the feeling of flying but for those who have experienced it, it's pretty amazing.

As I'm soaring upwards, an inkling of panic creeps into my heart. Just as it happens, my flying becomes tougher and tougher until fear has taken completely over me. Not knowing what to do, I close my eyes and feel the dream slip away all around me.

When I open my eyes I'm lying in my bed, fully awake.

Since then I've had one fully lucid dream, again in a very vivid and serene environment, where I attempted to show some of my family members that it was a dream by walking on water. It took a few attempts but eventually I managed to do it.

Aside from that there's been like 3-4 semi-lucid dreams where I'm trying to accomplish something with help from the power of flight.

One actually was pretty interesting where I was being attacked by some demon who was using wind against me, throwing me around the air(I've had a few recurring dreams related to being caught in the wind, unable to escape.) At some point I simply announced to him that this was going to stop now, because I was dreaming, and promptly flew away.

It was around that time that I started having dreams where dc's would turn against me whenever I decided I was dreaming. They'd try and grab me if I tried to fly, or like in one case I was held down by the fact that I was suddenly wearing a snowsuit.

I haven't remember a good dream in months now, but was recently re-exposed to lucid dreaming through a forum I go to. So now I'm back in it to win it.
